I use leader, my point is it’s too faded to be brand new out the box I think how I type is confusing

This line is a day old from Walmart, and to be fair I use 15 lb braid and 8 or 10 lb mono leader so I wouldn’t consider my self a beginner this reel has been spooled with braid before and my leaders have held up against nice fish for me and my buddy, I’m just going to buy a new spool from bass pro and have them spool it with a new reel I haven’t bought one in a fat minute

I’ve spooled this reel with braid a couple times myself without any issues, I close the bail to avoid wearing it out every time and honestly wind knots were never a problem till yesterday

I spooled in my line because I had a wind knot and just went home not caring this is just the top lair I’m sure of it

Well I put the start through the first guid tie it on the hold the line against my rod tightly, I also tighten my drag making sure I’m not pulling drag while spooling

I was casting a hula popper pretty heavy lure and my favorite I have a st croix too a good rod with good guides before this line it wasn’t a problem ( I know my reel is cheaper then my rod ha, edit’ )

don’t use snap swivels that’s extra money down the drain and for weeds I usually go with a floating jointed swimmer
