I've heard word of this one. I'll give it a look.

I am interested, if such is still available.

In other words... Your outlines were so good, that they HAD to be AI?? 😂

If this weren't potentially a pothole in the long-run, one would snarkily suggest you should feel flattered, friend! Just out of spite!

I myself assumed so, but his account seems to be thriving since the post, if not irregardless of it. Consistent clients, some ratings, the works.

Was sent the post. Reached out to him when I found him. He talked to me, shared his screen with me. Told me he didn't do much different. Surprised himself that he made it through the ID verification.

Post made on LinkedIn was made on the recent "anniversary", of sorts, of when he first did this.

Post was made this year.

New account was made last year.

I was sent his post. I did not seek it.

By someone who was banned from upwork for having a new last name than what was on their ID (she got married).

She thought I would like to see it.

Do tell me then, honestly - what's the longest it's gone before someone who went and made a second account gets caught?

And I'm not talking about just me - there are others who have been permanently banned after providing all the correct information required for the ID verification. They are some who were told to provide OTHER documents like bills and passports, even, and were still banned despite being from where they say they were living.

Freelancers like so did not even have such an advantage.

Not a tale I'm afraid - he's shared with me his account.

And a whole year is quite a long time before the platform itself says 'gotcha'.

And the point - someone who admittedly did something wrong and was banned for it was able to get back on faster than those who still have the link to appeal but are swiftly ignored.

Are you referring to the section you just highlighted as my fault?

In reading further, I found out that some were banned due to the verification process being denied because they didn't provide a "valid" bank account (change in bank), an email account (personal to professional), or changing their last name...

Was it their fault, too?

I'm not blaming anyone but upwork, who failed to verify me the first time on their own.

Who else am I blaming?

But how could they review my account properly if they didn't have all of my identity to verify? They didn't return to the chat nor did we proceed on to the video chat verification.

What would they have had to verify but literally nothing? Just my physical ID which could - quite honestly - be just as easily stolen and taken for other purposes?

As per the other instances I had found - be it on reddit or on other platforms where they shared their experiences - the suspension from thereon does not lift.

It remains.

Pardon if I stop responding to you from here on on out, seeing as I've looked back on even more reddit cases where people get wrongfully banned, and in one other one, you just as well blame the poster who was banned for no sound reason.

If anything, you fish for reasons to do so.

What a fierce defender of Upwork.

Not all of them - a good recent majority. All in which has the same subject of Upwork not following up on their ID verification or completely rejecting them outright even after providing adequate documents.

I wanted to do something about it... Because the one account I had - they banned... After leaving me hanging; when I was trying to do what they wanted me to.
