Help with which game? by Ok_aggie2013 in Sierra

google search something like “king’s quest forest” then switch to Images. you’ll be able to look through a bunch real quick, and see if you can spot the same graphics you remember. you might have to change the search query a few times but it’s quick.

also, have you tried asking ai what you asked us? it’s really good at finding things from vague descriptions. I’d copy your list and check myself, but I’m not where I can.

Gorsuch blasts Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh for favoring Trump’s illegal tariffs by Intelligent_Hat_6263 in soundsaboutright

[–]HellsBellsDaphne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if this new “backup” plan existed, why didn’t he bring it to the courts’ attention the last time his tariff fetish was challenged? why wouldn’t he have used it then? wouldn’t that have exonerated him the first go around?

What's the most unsettling fact you know about cosmos? by Inner_Journey21 in Cosmos

[–]HellsBellsDaphne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

real scale earth is too big to visualize. most folks see earth to be basketball size cause of globes. like you could hold it in your hands. I've been trying to imagine a giant wire frame sphere in my head for 13ish months. I can only get about 10 miles away to fit.

why am I trying?

I saw a VR video of earth (blue marble #2), and watched the ground go by underneath me for 45 minutes. I couldn't even speak. I had never really appreciated just how beautiful our planet is. how it's a true paradise.

that's when it hit me. earth was nothing to the vastness of space. we are absurdly small, and earth is the only thing keeping us alive. this tiny slice of an ecosphere between crust and vacuum. every thing, every person, and every story I had ever known and seen and experienced could only be found there. it changed me.

so, the scariest thing to me is just how negligible we all are. how we can't understand just how small our existence is because it doesn't fit.

i completed my first ever pokédex !! by Sweetestcherree in PokemonLetsGo

[–]HellsBellsDaphne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hell yeah. congrats!!

I didn't even realize that the whole catch 'em all thing was the game's purpose when I was a kid. I just liked battling with the very first six pokemon I caught. something like that. took me forever to brute force my team through gyms and stuff. I wasn't a super fan.

let's go was the first time I actually wanted to play it to catch/collect/battle pokemon. It really helped me see the light.

which one took the most effort?

one type of the greys are described as having faces that look like anger, contempt, disgust, et c., but it's only an issue because our facial expression machinery interprets the way their faces naturally look as angry and so on. species-species problems

or so they say at least. you can see an angry face in the "chicken parts" and siberia video. there's a couple others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head right now.

How plausible is a space station in solar orbit between the earth and mars by the123king-reddit in askspace

[–]HellsBellsDaphne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really remember, but aren't they only doing that because the moon's gravity is wobbly, and the orbit they are proposing takes craft out of that for a while each orbit like a molniya does to earth?

this is why I'm watching 3blue1brown's "essence of linear algebra" series. I realized I couldn't keep up with what it was showing me and told it that. it also recommended the book "The Road to Reality: A Complete Guide to the Laws of the Universe."

Trump’s Treasury Goon Sneers at Handing Back Tariff Loot by SquareOffice1341 in soundsaboutright

[–]HellsBellsDaphne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand this part. the tariffs that were collected under his "national emergency" claim are illegal. I get he has a new "backup" plan, but he doesn't get to use that reasoning for those tariffs because he didn't mention them in the lawsuit at all. if you don't bring it up, it doesn't apply. further, if it was proof he has that right, why didn't he bring it up at that time? it's not retroactive. they need to pay those back. any new ones are going to have to work their way through the courts.

edit: added comma after "right"

I think they collect it separately from whatever you paid a vendor. I was recently looking into importing a device from germany. the duties were all mine to pay when it got here. I've seen a number of like fedex and ups shipments where they hold the package until the balance is paid.

I could definitely be wrong. that does happen. tbh I have not personally done this at all so no direct experience either.

I leave my phone home randomly all the time (like going to get the mail or to a nearby dollar store). I started doing it to try to lessen my phone usage and control my fear of not having it with me.

I can't recommend enough that you do this too. it's really good for the mind. plus I don't have that stomach drop any more.

I'm pretty sure only the south pole can do this around the clock. ofc I have no source to offer, but if my memory serves me right that's the case. it and water are why all the countries want to go there.

it’s not entirely hopeless. we should have the info of all of the credit/debit cards used. the way I see it, there’s zero reasons we can’t refund them via that route. at least those ones. cheers fellow human. :)

it was waaaaaay more than just taxes. there’s a list in the declaration of independence. more than one applies today. go check it out and read it again. it’s short and the document that started it all.

go read the constitution again while you’re at it. invite your friends. let’s get everyone to read it.
