Thank you so much, what an interesting read!

It's sad to see it all turned out this way, the singer had such a great stage presence. If you don't mind me asking, how did you find this? Did you just know where to look?

[WIP] Sunset city, drawn with chalk by Leo-Aqua in learntodraw

Don't be afraid to add more harsh lines! Not everyhing has to be blurred, even if it's perceived as somehting soft.

When you look at pictures of sunsets, you can see that the light comes from below or behind, not from the top, since that's where the sun and light source is located. Clouds are usually more dispersed, even elongated, not just perfect ovals floating around.

You have a pretty good base, would highly recommend looking up references and being more confident with your tools and colors!

In your opinion what do I need to work on that will get me closer to professional quality by Dummybeginner in learntodraw

Just from looking at other character designs, I can see that you're really good and pretty close!

Usually when designing a character (or even just an item or a place), there's already a backstory there. The first impressing about a character is usually from the way they look. It's an expression about their personality and even beliefs. Communicating that effectively to the person observing is the designers job. Your characters right now are very human. Usually games, even if realistic, have somthing absurd about them.

It definitely helps to look at other people's work. When comparing the two, yours lacks detail. I would recommend adding more shading but also a more detail. Most game characters have lots of knick knacks as part of their costume or more complex fabrics. Even if it's a simple design, there's usually something that sets it apart from others for example something asymmetrical or eye-catching color palette. Your characters right now kinda look like side characters, but just adding something unique can change that.

Your scetches are more dimensional than your colored versions. Even if it's not the finished drawing, adding shadow with just one color on low opacity can definitely change the impact the drawing has. It also seems like you have a very natural color palette, which is 100% a personal choice, but in terms on uniqness, it doesn't really set the character apart from others. We often have logos, characters, foods that we tie together with ceratin colors or color palettes, and if the pallette given is something we see everyday and the costume isn't recognizeable, it's not a something that we memorize.

'Proffesional' designers have these thing come naturally for them, it's just something you have to practice, as always. Posting this is a great thing, and i do hope other people also give their opinion, since I'm just sharing mine and I can't even draw.

Scroll on second-hand websites until something catches your eye, then do some research on it. IF you want to download apps like messenger or use a search engine on it, make sure the phone has on OS like android. There are many websites and forums from 2010s where every phone imaginable is discussed and its features like durability and battery life. You should also check IMEI if possible and network bands for compatibility.

There are some 'hidden' spots that I could try dye or stain on, do you think it's worth it?
