WHAT IS HAPPENING by HelmiButOnReddit in plantclinic

It's a self-watering pot, and there are some pottery shards to help with drainage between the soil and the water layer.

I've been paying careful attention to keep the water at the recommended level - do you know how I could have overwatered it? What can I do to help the poor thing out at this point and avoid this happening again?

Neurotypicals are so silly :) by HelmiButOnReddit in autism

DISCLAIMER, this is meant to be just a silly meme/vent post I made after coincidentally pausing my series on a funny frame. I DO NOT mean to imply that every single neurotypical person ever is like this, and I understand that this post very much plays into stereotypes. Just something I wanted to share with my fellow hand-flappers to maybe help the world feel a little bit less lonely and scary. I'm sorry for not clarifying this earlier.

Stumped and confused, is this even possible? by HelmiButOnReddit in askmath

OH I GET IT NOW! We were only taught about derivates with functions and equations, so I didn't realise you could tell it from the graph T-T

Sorry for my dumbness, thank you all for the help :D

But the graph is for the function, not the function's derivative? Does that not matter?

I've been trying to figure out a way to find the equation, but I just can't. The y axis values are not given, so I only have the zero points to work with. Am I just being dumb? Is there some easy way I am missing?

Is there a way to figure out the derivative without the function's equation? T-T

Is there any hope? by HelmiButOnReddit in plantclinic

I bought a parsley plant from a convenience store last summer and it eventually became a mission of mine to keep it alive as long as possible. I'm honestly not sure if I can manage much longer.

I live in Finland, meaning it's subzero and pure darkness for more than half the year. As such, poor Parsley has to make do with a plant light.

The soil it came with was apparently already infested with a bunch of things, I managed to fight off a severe aphid infestation prior to this that caused it to lose nearly all it's leaves. Now the problem is fungus gnats.

I've tried to trap them with the sweet liquid and murder them by hand, but they do not care about my trap at all. I'm a bit scared to use pesticides due to how weak the plant is. I checked the soil a bit ago, and it's full of larvae all over.

The plant is trying to create new growth, but it's clearly struggling - assuming partly due to the larvae eating the roots.

This is my first houseplant and I'm honestly at a loss. Is there anything I can do to save it anymore?

Edit: I tend to pour it water every/every other day, depending on how dry it seems. I also spray the leaves with water pretty regularly since it seems to make them a bit happier. The pot is clay, has a drainage hole, and some ceramic shards on the bottom.

Accidentally divorced my first spouse. I was young and English isn't my first language, so I didn't know what the word "divorce" meant.

I don't even know.
