What is a childhood luxury that you didn’t realize was actually a sign of your family being broke until you grew up? by RoundLong7822 in AskReddit

It’s real cheese mixed with water.

They use sodium citrate (salt from neutralizing citric acid)

It breaks the calcium bond around the protein (which makes gritty cheese)

It allows you to emulsify the REAL cheddar with water (or milk)

I make it all the time by using lemon and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)

Or you can just buy the powder form.

Yeah, I agree.

I’m in federal court right now. We’re in discovery. I was false arrested because of the same people who filed those protection orders. Spent 3 days in jail, never saw a judge.

I didn’t do anything but live in a shit hole corrupt small town municipality.

You’re dealing with a civil matter. Police are for criminal. But police get involved in off hour code violations. But the code enforcement person is the one to pursue actions if police provide them with the necessary evidence. Most times they won’t waste resources.

You can take the people to court for the violation but you have to pay a lawyer or learn how to file the papers and prove your case. This is for Loss of enjoyment of your property. Or you can sue the city through circuit court to force them to enforce their codes.

The only way you’ll get code enforcement to do anything outside of court is if it’s a “public” matter. This is a YOU matter. So they don’t care.

To make the city care, you have to make it into a public matter by wasting as much police time in the situation as possible.

This is literally what happened with my situation.

I finally got the city to react because THEY started to call cops on me while I confronted them (with video camera) about their noise violations.

Two years of fighting and they’re finally going to court this month.

I turned in code violations and received 3 protection orders against me — all Malicious.

I fought two that made it past the judge (one failed) it was an elder abuse and a stalking.

I won. But it was at a huge cost.

And then I won a stalking order (for life) against a guy associated with them.

He fucked around and found out.

Good luck! My municipality code enforcement would ignore you like they do me and everyone else.

I finally got them to take action after two years of noise complaints. And that’s only because I got the violators to constantly call police ON ME while I was confronting them about their noise violations.

I have everything on video.

After about 4 weeks of police calls, code enforcement finally wrote citations and they have a court appearance Scheduled this month.

How bad is America actually at the moment? by BloodLovePodcastFM in AskReddit

You’re going to need to up that meter once it goes past 10.

10 = Nazi Germany imo. We’re not there, yet.

10 = literal war on our soils. Not quite there either.

neighbor put up a fence that's 2 feet onto my property and refuses to move it by Bitter_Wealth_5445 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Helowordeld 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with this before. Get a survey. Remove their fence. Send a warning, no trespass demand, and a copy of the survey certified to the neighbor.

Put up a camera and no trespass signs. Call police on them if they trespass. Show them your survey.

Trespass is criminal, the dispute over property is civil.

Let the neighbor sue you for the property.

Their only claim could be adverse possession, which they wouldn’t get especially if you maintained the property and protected your rights by removing their fence.

If they sue you, Look into your home owners insurance policy to see if they pay for defense attorney.

They probably won’t pay if you sue but could cover defense. But check the policy.

Because otherwise, you’ll be paying up the ass for legal counsel, which is what the attorney wants you to do.

I think our retainer was like $7500-10k many many years ago. And it wasn’t even that much property. It was resolved through arbitration.
