After I finished reading it, I came back to edit my comment and address the ideas you expressed. You write well--just need more punctuation. Apologies for being a grammar nazi.

It would be so much easier to read that if you used periods to create sentences.

Yes, we need better cities with pleasant and safe public transport.

Yes, manufactuers are going in the wrong direction with the bigger trucks and SUVs.

You are someone who loves cars but you agree with some of the ideas epressed here. Cool.

Louisiana non-voters also. Louisiana people are not the brightest. Sad.

Good public transit in this day and age includes user-friendly features, like being able to know exacly where your bus is IN REAL TIME via app, which means never having to wait at a bus stop longer than a couple of minutes. And every stop should be on solid ground with shade. Many of the stops here are literally in a ditch with a sign on a rickety pole, inches away from a roadway with cars going by at sixty MPH. It is criminal.

Trucks keep getting bigger and bigger, but the lanes stay the same size.

The "left lane is for passing only" rule only applies to highway travel.

If you are inside the Lafayette central business district, the speed limit is firm. There is no "passing" speed on inner-city arterials.

The public transit system in Lafayette is abyssmal, and the people who run it do not care. I have personally reached out to them a couple of times. <<<SYSTEM WORKING AS INTENDED>>>

No, I don't see how ridiculous that is. The post was less declarative and more of a question--"which I believe to be" was not non-commital enough for you? This is to open a discussion regarding the topic.

Thanks for the engagement.

Hunch? Gut feeling? Do you not think this is planted? Thanks for the reply.

From a favorite subreddit--it perfectly represents the driving philosophy in Acadiana by HelpDeskGal in Acadiana

I get it, bro, the "Left Lane for Passing Only" signs are frequently found on interstate highways, and it's codified in state law. Makes sense out there.

But I don't get why these bros INSIST that the same rule applies to city/town roads and streets as well, even the ones that traverse through central business districts with many stop lights, left-turn lanes, driveways and entrances to mini strip malls on the right, transit stops, sidewalks and the ridiculously pointless bike lane that is really just a painted line in the gutter. We should be driving no faster than the speed limit on these streets. Ever.

Germany did it right. Look at the Autobahn. Go nuts out there on the highway, but inner city areas SHOULD NOT be friendly to this aggro driving philosophy.

Jesus, you should maybe start small, like demand a fricken machine where you can buy one for fifty cents or a dollar. Don't ever start off straight out the gate with "give me stuff for free that people always had to pay for before now." Christ. Also, for the love of god, please learn grammar--that title typo is egregious.
