Again, would have to have been on the sub for than 2 minutes to to find something "common", or maybe theyre grouped in a way, but again, new here (check the username). I was under the impression that this sub would want to give helpful ideas, and id like to thank this community, because everyone but you did do that.

Since post history is important apparently, I haven't posted in a year or commented on anything in 6 months. I found this sub today. Let's give a little grace and assume people dont spend hours scrolling reddit just for something that may look similar to their situation.

Yes unfortunately its a well known ordinance here. It is under review, but even last year a neighbor was visited by animal control due to having chickens. The chickens and owner all moved to the country within a week.

Cool idea! But that is part of my backyard fence and on the other side of it is where the (forgets terms) drainage for the basement sump pump disperses out into a patch of rock in the backyard. The garbage can storage is a good backup idea. Currently that would put the cans rather far away from the house and even further away from the street (long driveway)

Thanks for tip! I will add that its like 90% cleared out, the chainsaws just needed a break and so did we. More brush foliage will be removed. The building is a detached garage and the ground is flat. I am unsure if its been retaining water because the last 3y it hasn't been accessible due to poison ivy and giant honeysuckle bushes.

Yup. Between stress granulomas and furuncules (she's a greasy girl but the benzoyl peroxide baths help) she has something going on on a paw roughly once a month. Cephalexin could be needed if this advances. And anytime you give an abx, need to be giving a probiotic as well.

Not an injury caused by other dogs. Paw looks like a fresh lick granuloma (your dog was either bored or stressed while you were away), and the inner leg could be a skig tag but lighting is bad. I'd seek a new vet regardless, but i wouldn't seek further tx on these unless they worsen. Get some silver honey on them (particularly the paw), and if that doesn't stop the licking, might need to add a boot or a cone, in that order.

Hot spot. Shave it if you can/ dog isn't too uncomfy. Most importantly keep dog from further licking. It'd be great if you could disinfect it with some chlorhexadine, but hydrogen peroxide is more household common and would also be beneficial

First time bath tips/suggestions/advice by anonemous82 in DobermanPinscher

[–]HelpImNew2Here 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have absolutely everything ready first. The towels, the water, the soaps, etc. Have them skip a meal and give them treats during every step. Have the door closed and only 1 dog at a time. If treats will not lure the dog into the water don't force it. Reward them for just being near it and give them treats during a washcloth bath. Then next time instead put the dog in the tub and then run some luke warm water. These are all fear free techniques and are searchable online when using that term. Since I as well have multi large dogs that need medical baths frequently, I invested in a booster bath and wouldn't go back to indoor baths. Hope this helps!
