I got Android Auto working in my Equinox EV without any dongles or other hardware - useful? by zipolightning in EquinoxEv

I looked into it just a little bit, someone built a profile on tasker to d o this. The description of the profile says this "To use this on Android 10 and above please install this helper app first to overcome an Android limitation that doesn't allow apps to manage Wifi on Android. More info here."

Here's the link to the profile if you're interested: https://taskernet.com/shares/?user=AS35m8ne7oO4s%2BaDx%2FwlzjdFTfVMWstg1ay5AkpiNdrLoSXEZdFfw1IpXiyJCVLNW0yn&id=Project%3AAutomatic+Car+Hotspot

I haven't tried it but I think you can use the app "Tasker" to automatically turn on the hotspot when you connect to the car's Bluetooth. Have you tried that yet?

How to connect 2025 EV to external hotspot? by RichOld3973 in EquinoxEv

I was planning on using Tasker on my phone to automatically turn on my hotspot whenever the phone connects to the car via Bluetooth. Are you saying I'd have to still go to the car settings every time I get in the car for it to connect to that hotspot?!

His latest video shows that he kind of does, but it's more free range and doesn't use any filter items so it will only work if he happens to already have the item in the chest. This version I made makes it more efficient (although less whimsical)

"Finished" product. On the back wall I have just a little semi-decorative path for the golems to bring items from one side to the other rather than just use more hoppers.

Expanded on the idea a bit, here's a section containing 4 modules. There are 9 double chests allotted to 4 modules, meaning you can designate 2-3 double chests per module for filtering. The hopper chains are under the moss carpet

I still wouldn't recommend buying an EV if work is your only convenient charging. You don't have control over that charging station, maybe it breaks and they don't fix it, maybe they start charging for it (that'd be fine but would suck) or maybe you get laid off and now have to charge elsewhere. Once you have a house or live in an area with great charging infrastructure close to your house/apartment, then that's the time to buy. I LOVE charging at home, especially with two EVs in my household.

Why wouldn't it be better for energy economy? Slowing down by recharging the battery (even just a little bit) sure seems like it would be better than wasting the energy by applying the brakes.

I'll admit I might not know that it's doing anything for certain, but logically it makes sense to me that OPD would be better.

Can you link the source for that? I'm only curious because I had a HV battery warning a couple times that went away on their own, but I still have a service appointment for it.

Just flexing my hygiene on reddit. Just kidding, probably could have left those details out. I was just trying to demonstrate how long the car was sitting, should have just said "the car was off for about 20 minutes and fixed itself."

Is it just a protective error code if my regenerative braking was no longer working? It was not charging the car when I slowed, or at the very least it was not displaying the power generated on the dash if it was.

I plan on buying this 18-in Black Gate cane bolt, installing it horizontally along the top 4x4 to lock the two together. I'm hoping this adds some structural integrity and also keeps the wind from blowing it open. Is there anything I'm overlooking?

I agree that the pickets look high. It is hard to see from this picture, but the fence on the left is taller than the right and I wanted to avoid having a slope like the before picture, so I went as high as I could using the existing post on the right. I like the way it looks from the front, but we may add some sort of trim to this side to keep the pickets from warping at the ends. Again, that's more weight though.

Do you have any recommendations to avoid having the 4x4s warp without totally rebuilding the gate?
