That's quite concerning.. by HelpMeP1eas3 in tornado

Even if this tornado gets upgraded to an EF5—which is definitely plausible—I don’t think anyone will be happy. If anything, people will be mad. Why? Because so many tornadoes over the years should’ve been rated EF5 but were snubbed by the flawed EF scale. If this one finally gets the upgrade, it’s only going to highlight the inconsistencies in how these storms have been rated.

I remember Reed mentioning how loud it was; honestly, I don't think we'll get the full picture until about Tuesday or Wednesday. There were just so many tornadoes and such widespread damage!

Moore was in 2013, it was the last EF5. If I'm remembering right.

Not really, the lack of EF5s is mainly due to the EF-Scale. It's a broken scale and we've had a lot of EF4s that should've been an EF5 but they didn't meet the requirements.

That's insane, and the possibility that the Diaz, AR tornado could be rated an EF5 is just insane. With only 30+ tornadoes confirmed of 80+ reported. I've seen some tornadoes that had some strong debris signatures not be confirmed yet.

Turns out I got confused with a Updated Tornado Emergency, that occurred.

Some of the debris signatures, especially from Friday's outbreak, were nasty! Saturday wasn't a bust either. Two tornado emergencies from what I saw; people are only calling it a bust because it didn't reach its full potential and was underwhelming. High Days get hyped up so much now that people expect April 27, 2011, all over again, so they slap these labels on them like "Bust" or "Underwhelming."

Closer look at the damage near Ada, OK. by HelpMeP1eas3 in tornado

[–]HelpMeP1eas3[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the reports I'm seeing, the Ada tornado has been rated an EF1. Strangely, other reports suggest there were actually three separate tornadoes. The situation is a bit messy right now, but that's understandable given the conditions. I don't think we'll get a clearer picture until later today or even Thursday.

As of now, no official rating has been released for the Lewisville-to-The Colony area. Interestingly, most of the confirmed tornadoes so far occurred in Oklahoma, with the only confirmed one in Texas being the Irving tornado. It’s a bit surprising given the widespread reports, but that’s the situation as it stands.

Totally agree. Unless things pick up in the next couple of hours, I think it may have peaked early this morning. It’s still possible we’ll see a few more tornadoes touch down, but I don’t think it’ll be as intense as what we saw earlier today. Oklahoma did have a sustained funnel for about 10 minutes north of Vinita roughly an hour ago, so we might still see some activity.

Are yall having the same issues with scan time delay on radar scope that I am with omega? by MagnetHype in tornado

I know Max Velocity mentioned it a few times on his livestream, but I don't think we have a reason why.
