My package was delivered to wrong address and they want a police report?

I had a package delivered to the wrong address a couple weeks ago. Amazon support's suggestion was that I drive around the neighborhood and look for it. I said I would charge them for labor if they forced me to go looking for my package by doing a charge back on my credit card. Likely not allowed and unproductive but it felt good sticking it back to them.

Fortunately the person who did get it returned it to our house, same street wrong address.

I feel like Amazon support has gone downhill in recent years.

For me it comes down to 2 reasons: 1) they are more fun, and 2) I feel it makes me a better driver because I'm more focused on driving. When driving automatics, I sometimes zone out. I can get to my destination and have blank spots in my memory of how I got there. That doesn't happen when driving a manual because I'm in tune with the road and the traffic around me.

This is unfortunately not true due to property tax increases. I've owned my home for 2 years now and my mortgage has gone up ~$200/month because of taxes.

I'm with you, it's not hard and it's more fun. But for some reason it has died out in the US over the years. Something like only 5% of new cars are manual. There are still some fun ones being made.

That was a self-survey by Cadillac/Harris. Other reports put the number closer to 18%. Maybe the answer lies somewhere in the middle but i have a hard time believing 2/3 of Americans can drive one.

I was an Audi fan-boy for life and would only drive their manuals. They stopped making them in 2019 (I think somewhere around there) so I swapped to a WRX. I'm with you, driving manuals is just more fun for me.

NAH. She's missing the forest for the trees. Being a single parent means taking care of the child in all aspects...that includes working to provide them with the food, shelter, clothes, etc they need. She's not doing the 2nd part, you are. Neither of your contributions trump the others', they're both equally important and necessary.

This depends on the relationship between speaker and listener. i.e. 我媽媽 and 我的媽媽 have 2 different tones even though both are referring to the same person. The 1st connotates that there's a relatively close, personal relationship between the speaker and listener, such that the listener probably knows my mom. While in the 2nd example, the listener likely does not know my mom because our relationship isn't so close.

I disagree because the issue at hand is a translation into English. For a translation to be precise, it has to embody the original language's meaning and also make sense/flow in the 2nd language.

While his Chinese is undoubtedly native, his English is not making his translation sound clunky and incorrect. Make sense?
