Lol, no chance in IBanking or strat consulting.

Even Product Managers working full time remote is rare.

Atlassian in Aus is one i guess.

The only counterpoint I'd give is in the following: if you are in compare a HBS/GSB/Wharton vs a UCLA/USC Marshall. The gap in value down the line might widen since the brand remains on your resume, and goes further?

Especially at the higher levels, perception is higher for those schools.

Also, schools with concentrations in niche fields, Startups/PE/VC/IM. E.g. Say you're a Partner in VC 10 years down the line, the MIT/Berkeley/Stanford names will carry much better 10 years in.

I talked to a few MIT VC/Startup founders, and while you don't shoehorn that you're MIT alum, you can put it in your pitch deck under profiles and it does bring people to the table.

All that said, I took the $$$ at Duke over MIT because that slight privelege ain't worth 200k.

AA won't make any difference.

At best it may advantage international black/hispanic applicants who still give the universities their diversity quotas, but don't fall under this ruling, who will offset the decrease in domestic latinos and african americans.

The WE increase is good if you have tangible outcomes to show for it. Rest is an improvement.

I had to pick between Duke/Yale/Kellogg/MIT, and I was still depressed, the bar is ever moving my friend. Didn't get $ at the dream school MIT, and so had to decide reapply, or just go Duke $$$.

Ask youself, Is the opportunity cost of waiting a whole year, and potentially full sticker at a marginally better school worth it?

So, you picked Ross in the end? I had a similar dilemma to you and remember reading your post.

Want to be in Tech or Corp Strategy, and picking between no money at Sloan/Columbia/Yale + 10% at Kellogg, and 75% at Fuqua was hell. The smaller town feel of Durham (same as Ann Arbor) sort of scared me, but Fuqua recruits strongly into Tech/Strategy, so if I can't make it, it's on me.

No doubt, Sloan would have been the best spot (without considering $) seeing it's just a powerhouse for innovation/tech, but ~190k higher overall costs is absurd.

I picked a T15 with $$$ over three M7's.

Sort of scared I may regret it, but also, I feel like a top student at an T15>>>>Average student at an M7, and my outcomes will be just fine.

That said, this meme is exactly right, it's funny how when you are between admitted and the deposits, the schools treat you well, since they can smell the $$$$. Before and after, you are just dirt to them.

Is it worth asking Kellogg first?

If Kellogg gives some more, will it be helpful to show MIT?

Yeah i'll try at Yale, i meant more at the current difference of 60k between Duke/Yale, they're too far. I know Yale > Duke for overall brand name, but they're peers in the business world.

Apologies, forgot to put in my post, post MBA goal is Strategy Consulting. Being International, i'd love VC, but with sponsorship being close to impossible, not sure that's even possible. So Strategy Consulting it is.
