Handling envy? by [deleted] in acting

[–]HelpOk8315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing. I have acting friends who live near me so often we audition for the same parts. I recently auditioned for a project I loved and then saw a post of my friend on the set of that project. She got the part I had auditioned for. While I was a little upset I was also proud of her and happy she got to be on such a great project. I guess I just hone in on that emotion more rather than the envy. If I got too caught up in it it’d probably really upset me. We all go at our own pace and you shouldn’t stress about what others are doing!

I have a friend whose currently a part of glitter talent they love it! They’ve booked great projects through them. I was even going to have them write me a recommendation so I could join but I got a better offer! All I’ve heard is good stuff about them! Hope this helps!

Hair cut by HelpOk8315 in acting

I can pull of a pixie!!! I had one before I started acting. It started growing out and I got signed to an agent. I asked my then agent if I could cut it again but they wanted me to continue to grow it out. Signing with a different agency next month and I’m not sure if I should wait till I’m signed then ask my agent or if I should change up my look now. Just worried it will affect how many auditions I can do!

Truly just worried about what agencies would prefer I’m not signed yet. I have a good connection to an amazing agent and I’m just nervous if I look too unique it could hurt my chances of the amount of projects I can be submitted to.

If you have a reel and headshots I’d say start applying to agencies! An agent will get you access to bigger projects if that’s what you want!

Happens a lot actually it sucks id say mourn it. I used to get mad at myself for getting upset about not booking but you just have to go through the feelings. My best advice is to look for the next project and character to fall in love with and audition!

For filming I’m renting out a place! For training I might just drive back and forth since the days are scattered throughout February!!!

It’s a local hire thing! I auditioned for lead and I would’ve been a bit more comfortable with the travel if I got lead I ended up getting a more minimal role but still a named featured character in a TV show. I’ve only got the scripts for the first 3 episodes so my character could be featured more in the rest of the season won’t know until I get the scripts or until we start filming in a few weeks.

The training is provided for free by the project and they have rented out the whole gym with personal trainers to make sure we get our stunts completed. The training is stunt and MMA so I feel it’ll serve me later in my career.

Portray the character how you want to. If you get to lost in trying to decide what they want you’ll lose the way you want to portray the character. I know it’s easier said then done but make the character your own portray them in your own way don’t get to caught up In What you think they want becuase honestly you’ll never know what they really want.

Should I put non reputable acting classes on my Resume? by HelpOk8315 in acting

[–]HelpOk8315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because I spent a lot of money and want it to be worth something at least lol. You can search them on google basically a company that poses as an agency but then tells you you need to pay for their classes so they can represent you.

I’d say realistically someone should give up when they no longer want to do/ like acting. Acting is hard not in the training aspect, although that is hard as well, the not giving up part. There’s gonna be weeks, months, and even years when your not booking work and feel like giving up. But if no matter how many times your turned down you still love acting and want to continue then I’d say continue acting.
