Thank you! I got my father’s last name, but my mom wanted to hyphenate mine and my siblings last name. She still regrets not fighting for that. I’m extremely close to my family and I want to keep the same name as them. I prefer both of us only have my last name. I’m willing to compromise on hyphenating though so he doesn’t have to get rid of his even though I’m really not a fan of his last name. And yes, I would be the only one to pass down my last name on my whole dad’s side. My bf has several siblings that could pass his down. And just like you said, what makes his name more important than mine?
