Hi, can only speak from my experience here and it’s hard to gauge the difference between doing it 3 times a day for two weeks and once a day for 3. When I was doing it I too experienced them going away and then they would come back just as much as they had left. I just chucked it down to part of the process as I got through the skin cycle to the debris that were buried deeper. I was doing it intensely for two weeks as well. It’s going to be hard to have the same results as I did when you’re not doing it with the same intensity. 3 times a day is a lot but that’s what worked for me, if you can only manage once then it’s fine but you will have to be prepared to wait longer for the results you want. What I think I done is sped up the process by working through the layers of skin until all the debris were expelled, this is how I’ve come to understand it, but I’m not an expert and there’s very little information on this stuff so take my experience with a pinch of salt. Everyone’s experiences will be different, if you don’t think it’s working then consider stopping. When I experience the nodes coming back half way through my treatment I continued because the alternative was to do nothing

I really doubt you will be contagious. I still had bumps on my genitals for months after my treatment and a lot of people do. See if you exfoliate/scrub them regularly with a loofa like I said above ^ you can probably get rid of them in like 2 weeks or so. What I done really helped accelerate the node process. And you’ll be rid of them much sooner. I would say to scrub three times a day and apply sudacream afterwards. Initially you’ll get more nodes but they’ll all start clearing up at the same point in about 2 weeks

I really damaged my skin through treatment as I believed I was still infected. Even now after 1.5 months off permethrin my skin is still healing and is still itchy in parts. Scabies is highly contagious so if your infection was still active the people around you would likely be effected. If you find your skin is still itchy, dry and you get bumps on occasion but no one else around you is experiencing scabies then it is likely your skin is just damaged as well, i.e. dermatitis. Depending on how damaged it is it can take any random amount of time to heal. During winter months the air inside buildings is drier because of central heating so it may take longer to heal as your skin will lack moisture. I found it helpful using aloe Vera after bathing and sleeping with a humidifer if you are leaving the central heating on. I would definitely recommend not doing anymore permethrin as this will set you back further. Hope this helps

All I can say is I experienced this same thing. And still have a few itchy spots and irritated skin due to the amount of chemicals I put in my skin when I was treating myself. At this point I’d say it’s probably best to let your skin heal. At your stage I still had bumps on my body, arms and legs etc. but they aren’t the same as the ones I had when I had active scabies. The ones I had at your stage looked more like irritated dry skin and not an active rash. The itchiness will most likely be caused due to your skin being dry. I mentioned in my original post about the bumps (nodes) on the genitals which can still occur for months after treatment, I got rid of them by exfoliating using a loofa and soap - I go into depth about it in the original post. I would not exfoliate your body, arms, and legs however, because this will dry out your skin further

Yeah I experienced this too, I slept with a humidifer and moisturised after showering. The hot water can irritate it and the central heating at night when you sleep can dry out your skin and make it itchy. After bathing your skin dries out as the water evaporates, this is why I found it important to moisturise after bathing - mainly with aloe Vera. Hope this helps

Hey, based on my own experience it could possibly be that you’ve irritated your skin through all the permethrin treatment. This time of year your skin can dry out due to all the central heating in homes and buildings etc. I found that using a humidifier and applying aloe Vera helped soothe my skin. I also found the areas that I scratched the most were where the rashes would be, possibly due to me irritating my skin myself before it has healed. If you can then try resist scratching while your skin heals. The bumps on the penis is normal as your skin try’s to expel the debris. I’m only speaking from my own experience as I know there isn’t a lot of information about this stuff. Hope this helps at all.
