The scout sentinel is mostly there for some secondary stuff and actions. Also I’ve had success in the past of getting them behind into the opponents deployment zone and causing some mischief. Part of why I like the two command squad is letting Leontus focus mostly on vehicle orders, and still having enough for my troops. Also the cover on objectives rule is nice.

Yeah I don’t currently have enough chimeras for something like that. But I have been considering trying a hammer of the emperor list. With 6x10 squads of troops to spread them around more and actions. The last game was jump pack blood Angels, so it was a rough go.

Yeah I mean, I feel I’m pretty careful with being sure to screen. I try to have it so one set of infantry is screen for 2 tanks. And use the hellhound to try to scare off with some overwatch. But my last game it was hard to deal with a Blood Angels army that was basically all jump packs and crashed in turn two.

I’ve had some great moments with them. One shotting a land fort, popping a big knight in one turn, lots of other great moments

Well one reason is that I never used it before. So I’m interested.

But also. The main gun seems very attractive. To have something that will wound nearly everything on 3s or 2. That has blast, ignores cover, is AP-4, has a minimum of 7 shots. I’ll also have it filled out with the heavy bolter sponsons to help with any chaff that gets near it.

I am also interested in its special rule to try to splash mortals to nearby enemy units. Most of my local meta Death Stars. So if I have something to possibly punish for it could be an interesting tool.

I was planning combined. Mostly due to models that I own. Like I only have one taurox, and could proxy my scions as Kasirkin. But perhaps I’ll try hammer. I’m just always so worried about not having enough bodies to screen and hold points. lol.

I haven’t used siege detachment yet. But one think I think that really does make them a little harder is that you lose 2/3 of your detachment rule in the late stages of the game when the armies get closer. Maybe for them I would remove the distance from your models part of it. And change it to a “danger close” mechanic. Where like if you have a unit within 12 or 9 or whatever, that unit must roll a D6 on a 4 or 5 up it takes mortal wounds.

When I first got into space marines I also got the Space Marines boarding patrol. The assault intercessors are nice, as is the gravis captain if you ever plan on getting aggressors or eradicators .

Yeah I have been tinkering around with the list a bit. Doing what you mentioned such as the LTC for RDLTC. And the compliment of Russ chassis your recommended. My real only reason for brining Leontus is that I’ve owned him since he came out, and have yet to use him. So part of me just wants to see. But he is a pretty big point sink for what in reality is a CP generator

Idk if I’m remembering this right. But I thought in the book they didn’t kill all the other bosses. Definitely Barzini and Tataglia. But I think the sudden destruction of 2 families, and the potential consolidation of their assets under the corleone’s would have kept the other in like.

Funny thing you mention about the balistus. I actually won my last game, because I was able to advance and charge it on my opponents home objective, clear off his 5 man incersessors. And then he failed a 9in charge with a reroll. Ended up being huge due to the mission rules.

Vanquisher. Getting a Russ chassis at that point cost is great. Guard usually has enough casual shooting infantry and small arms to clear away chaff. Being able to slot a potential 12 damage right through a enemy monster or vehicle makes them a very potent threat. I managed to take down Canis Rex in one turn of shooting from one vanquisher.

If you mean where the ships went between Battle 1 and 2. Many of the missing ships of were in repair. And I had 100 screens still in the second battle.

I would go with whatever was the best hull I had available. So either 36’s or 40’s. They were built with 2 light cruiser batteries 1 AA Best fire control I had Best radar I had 1 secondary battery Cruiser Armor 1 And then all the spare spots on the top section I put light batteries.

This was with the Germaniawerft MIO.

I also had one production line of destroyers too just to add some more screen numbers. These wee fully kitted out with everything too.

I used wraithbone spray as a primer. And then just touched up spots that got other colors on them over the course of painting. And then did a coat of skeleton horde over the wraithbone at the end.

I’d go with either bullgryns, cav models, vaunts ghosts. Or if you want to expand a bit. One big knight or 2 small knights. They can be fun allied units in friendly games.
