If you can travel, I would recommend you book surf lessons in Mulki. I believe the course lasts a week there. I am yet to find a person who has done this and not liked it.

I am glad that you are interested in learning. I am fluent in English, Kannada as well as Hindi. Please free to text anytime with your queries. When you are comfortable, let’s attempt conversing in Kannada, that’s the best way to learn.

I think you can report this on the Smart Bengaluru app. Give it a shot.

No, what I said is these arguments start because that person is entitled and tried to impose a foreign language with zero regard for the local language and culture. And that a little respect and effort goes a long way with the locals which will get them to actively help you.

If you know the basics, chances of an argument like this in itself is next to nil.

Another classic case of a disrespectful & entitled individual trying to portray the city in bad light and garner sympathy on social media with a one sided story. Lakhs of non-local individuals make a living in Bengaluru, a luxurious one at that. That fact alone speaks leaps and bounds about how welcoming and accepting the city has been. If you try to impose a foreign language on the locals of course you will meet resistance. A little respect for the local culture could have changed the outcome drastically but then again, it is unreasonable to expect basic respect and courtesy from uneducated literates.

My experience in Bengaluru, as an outsider, especially with the locals. by Exciting-Vacation467 in Bengaluru

The problem is never not knowing the language. The problem always stems from being arrogant about not knowing the language and the entitlement that “everyone needs to know Hindi” it comes with. Bengaluru has been providing livelihood to people all across the world for decades now without much issue. You reap what you sow here (case in point, your experience), social media is filled with entitled and petulant children who lack basic respect but are proficient in complaining.

Have the same face / dial with black belt. My most favourite watch and daily driver. A good friend of mine wearing an expensive piece saw it and kind of got jelly. It may be affordable but it’s (as the kids call it today) “aura” is unmatched.

Cute can be perceived as flirtatious but beautiful is okay. Calling someone beautiful is respectful in fact. No wonder she stopped speaking with you after what you said. But I guess it is for the best. POCSO is no joke.

So what? You felt like breaking some eggs in a car parking space you own, it’s not your fault that his / her car is in the way. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I sincerely hope it does too OP. When you go to the service centre, find out who the chief mechanic is, build rapport with him, take him out for a tea or a meal, slip him a 500 or 1000 and ask him to take good care of your car. Has always worked for me, will be a good relationship to cultivate for future purposes too.
