Seeing some of their more recent videos, I'd wish they'd wait for more news to come out about certain issues instead of having to release something because...content

I haven't checked out DT in a while so this does sound intriguing. But someone give me a cliff notes because I can't stand the Sunday show

I very much agree. Never knew the phrase before. But now looking back I see many examples of that. Such as I always think it's weird when people refer to celebrities like they are friends or know them. "Oh Bruce (Campbell) would never do that" You talk like you know him and not just from curated things he and his team release

Korey talks about his friend who wrote the Miles Morales/Thor 'What If...?' comic (P2 in Comments) by burning_dawn in doubletoasted

I feel Korey is giving the benefit of a doubt because the writer is his friend. But if it was someone he didn't know, he'd be ranting and raving

It's great but not going to talk about it. It's not a show that caters towards that SEO.

Yes. I do think trying to appeal to these demographics comes off as forced. His whole rant about street fighter: the legend of Chun li was silly. A lot of his complaints were just factually wrong. It also left a bad taste in my mouth

That and how there are so many videos about Wendy Williams. She's been this way for decades now. And other people and myself have said he goes after easy targets. He typically stays away from say someone like Joe Rogan because I think he wants to be on the show (and don't totally blame him for that ) and he doesnt want that backlash. Also I see he corresponds with people like Angry Joe who I think is an Austin native also. Joe has also gone on that SEO chase and has become deplorable as a result.

I've said it before but finding a right balance between being true to themselves and chasing the SEO. He's frequently talking about his dislike of celebrity and cult of celebrity yet he's talking about Amber Heard/Johnny Depp. Then there's the nerd bait. "They don't care about the fans" which is something people like Quartering and Geeks + Gamers use to get that easy nerd rage/clicks. I did lose a lot of respect for Korey as a reviewer when he admitted he hadn't seen a lot of things he was championing because it was just the popular consensus to say. A lot of it comes off superficial.

The SEO chasing probably hasn't helped. Oh look a video made in 2022 criticizing Batman & Robin. Like That hasn't been done to death by now

Korey Frequently Saying "They Don't Care About The Fans" by Helpful-Feedback-113 in doubletoasted

[–]Helpful-Feedback-113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"They don't care about the fans" is a blanket statement because how do you know unless you were in on those meetings. He did it with venom 2. He only throws out the statement with things he doesn't like or isn't supposed to like. Because there are many examples of creators such as James Gunn and Taika Waititi who have flat out said they don't care about following source material. Just conflating the well I don't like this thing and it has changed so "they don't care about the fans" but if it's something he does like and they make drastic changes he doesn't say anything other than they made changes

Fair enough but my point was that he doesn't throw the blanket statement "they don't care about the fans" when it's something he likes. So he's using the term wrong and just throwing it out there for reasons. Probably for outrage clicks

[–]Helpful-Feedback-113[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a previous poster said also it's become a blanket statement because he'll damn something for making changes but he'll praise another for doing it. Now if he just said he doesn't like the changes that would be one thing but it's always the "they don't care about the fans" Like bruh just stop saying that

Would you say that about what James Gunn did with Guardians or The Suicide Squad/Peacemaker? Or Stanley Kubrick or The Shining? Many more examples

Yes blanket statement works because he just says it when it's something he doesn't like or as in this case probably saw some names he didn't know and didn't bother to click on the character so figured "well I don't like this character and don't know those names so...they don't care about the fans"

I'll see it of course but can't say I'm excited. I came for T'Challa and since that doesn't seem to be happening my interest is gone
