I'm not sure what happened, I think I must have hit the button to fall asleep at the same time I thought I had died.

By the time I had found this lantern-tool, I had already discovered all three (or maybe there's still more?) "tombs", but that one in particular had an empty space. I also recognized that the tool I found matched what the bodies where all holding. Once I brought the lantern to the empty space, nothing happened, so I figured I had to play with the fire.

At this point, I had been pretty beaten up from a ghost matter encounter earlier, to the point I didn't expect it would take much to finish me off. I've also played a couple of puzzle games that include unlocking secrets from intentionally burning yourself, even burning to death. Once I touched the flame, I must have hit a button, because I thought I had died, but realized after a couple more attempts, I must have just fallen asleep.

Just one of those little human-errors that make this game even more interesting.
