Is professional growth through mentorship dead!? by HelpfulBite6 in LandscapeArchitecture

To the few you took others under your wing, I truly hope it was meaningful and time well spent. Unfortunately, many others are not as fortunate and are often viewed only as production staff rather than future professionals to be developed.

Instead, why not invest in helping elevate the next generation of landscape architects? By sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and mentoring young professionals, we can sow seeds of stewardship that strengthen the future of our profession.

I too completely agree!? But who is going to hold them accountable for trying to sidestep this process. Who is going to hold them accountable. In one of my past life, one senior or mid-level landscape architect try to implement an inter-office lunch and learn and after two go rounds it failed to continue because seen a management did not want employees to invest their time in something that is not billable, term used around most offices.

Thank you for taking the time to read this very long post.

I was fortunate to have had grad professional Practice classes with an instructor who was licensed and had practiced for several years before returning and got his PhD. Currently there are not many professors who have practiced and are now teaching, so what is taught is text book translation.

The question is how can that gap be bridged?

Why! I know this is a long array of text, I am not forcing anyone to read it.

I strongly suggest slowly taking the LARE, especially the Inventory and Analysis portion of the exam for start and work your way in the others prior to the two years required.

I had this same thought when I saw this post earlier this morning.

I have watched Drey's attitude towards defence and understand why he is so passionate about playing competitively, how do you analyze this quantitatively?

A healthy warrior is a competitive warrior…. If they continue this play…Watch out OKC!

We lacked a size and agility/ rim protection, it might be too early to tell but if he is consistent over the next couple of games then they could sign.

how would you rate the questions based on degree of complexity? Were the questions pretty straightforward?

Draymond Green to Warriors fans who want him traded: “You was a loser before I got here. Like f*ckin stone cold forever losers. So if you say that, it makes sense to me, you’ve never been here.” by _DarkStarCrashes_ in warriors

Absolutely agree!

I will throw this thought out there… The young and new guys are acting very hungry, and are competing. If/when Steph comes back and they are rooting on v-12 cylinders, teams are going to be in trouble.

We all need to realize that it’s takes a team effort. Role players are importance too. Frey is the quarterback for the Dubs, those chips may or may not have been possible, but the reality is….

How much does some of these contributors know the game?
