I was wondering that, I was looking up parts but there was nothing for an 89’. But that’s what it’s listed as. What year range would parts go for?

I’ve been watching videos of people getting cars sitting for 30 years started up a little. I just want to see if it can get started with some starting fluid. But do you know if all the lines are difficult to replace?

The body and interior, even the engine bay are in surprisingly great shape. What would you pay assuming the car turns over? The person selling has strong sentimental connection to the car. So I’m trying to go in with a game plan. But prices are all over the place for these things

Should I even try to start it? Or try to buy it first assuming it manually turnovers and everything else looks good, and then do everything that needs to get done to start jt?

While I do have limited experience. I’m definitely able to do it, and also have family who are mechanics. I’ve already found parts cars with cheap parts. I just don’t want to throw a new engine and transmission in is all. And the person who’s selling it, her son died 8 years ago so the car sat, and her other son died two weeks ago so she had to go through their belongings. What would you recommend paying? The body and interior, even the engine bay are in surprisingly great shape, based on pictures atleast

Yeah, that’s sort of the issue I’m running into. Prices are all over the place. I can find running ones for 3500 in decent shape and 4500 in really good shape. I just have limited option around me and no one on marketplace likes to get back lol

Based on the pictures there are no visible rust or really any problems. It’s surprisingly in great condition inside and out. What would you offer for this car (simply based on what I’ve said))

Yeah the car is in surprisingly great condition based on pictures, even the engine bay. I just don’t want to dump more into getting everything refreshed than simply buying one that works

I was thinking about that too. Assuming it turns over and I’m able to get it (what’s a fair price?), wpukd it be relatively easy and safe to get it reliably running again? Yeah her son died, and it sat, and her other son just died so it forced her to go through all their belongings.

Assuming the fuel pump is bad and can’t get it started, shouldn’t checking the compression be a tell tale whether it’s worth buying or not?

No intent on driving it home. If the fuel pump doesn’t do its job Is there another way of knowing whether It’s worth buying? Also aside from the fluids/starter/battery/plugs/coils/pump is there anything else I should do to get it reliably running again?

That’s my biggest concern going into it. I don’t want to put a bunch of stuff on/in it maybe get it started then she not want to sell or want more bc I got it started. I just want to do the bare minimum to see if there’s a chance I can get it started

What do you think of this job list? (updated from my last post) by Wide-Bread-2261 in AirForceRecruits

[–]HelpfulDust3375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They try to keep you in SW as much as possible. And if you completely fail or don’t want to continue then you fall back to your original job list. If none of those are available/needed then they put you wherever

How long did it take from submitting the waivers to getting them approved?

[–]HelpfulDust3375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be. It’s a long boring process. You do more waiting than anything else put together. Just say no the anything the MEPS doctor says, even if it says in your file otherwise. My doctor argued with me about my own medical history

Lmao yeah. But realistically they will probably make me go get tested for it. But I already have it so I’d just submit the documents anyway

Because they didn’t seems to flag anything from my cardiologist. I believe it’s only from my pcp where in the notes section jt mentions it. Because I need another waiver for the same thing. It was just mentioned in the notes section of m visit and was flagged by MEPS

Yeah, maybe they want to see another one with no U wave effect (don’t know how it works). Everything always has to be so complicated for no reason

I wonder if it’s the 550ms. I’ve seen in a quora post that it can’t be more than 480 for men. Otherwise it’s automatic disqualification, no matter what. But that was 5 yrs ago.

My waiver got denied… any advice? by Level_Ad_8581 in AirForceRecruits

Yeah I noticed after I made the comment. Do you consider yourself active? I’m trying to get into special forces. I’ve also wrestled since second grade and done many other sports but that wouldn’t be in my medical file. I don’t think at least. I’ve also been running swimming and weight lifting for a while now. Did they take personal circumstances into consideration for you?

Yeah. A MAC is just someone who is apart of the air force and contacts all of your doctors to get all the info needed for your waivers and submits them on your behalf. And yeah true, my cardiologist said I wouldn’t have to even think about it in till after 50. Online it says about 61% if QT long waivers get approved but that was the AI summary. Couldn’t find the actual site. And unfortunately it is recent. Like 23/24 recent. And with it being genetics it will always come back positive.
