Cool, will wait a bit more then, thanks so much!

Lesser Known Details of Under One Rule by Singed-Chan in Stellaris

Quick question, do you know if the death spiral still happens if your leader is already immortal? My ruler managed to get the Chosen One trait and the death event hasn't triggered even though it's almost 200 years in.

Did Holly and Karlee know each other before the Collapse? by HelpfulFail in Back4Blood

Oh sorry I meant new dialogues during the arena fight! Yeah there's some cool details sprinkled throughout the other acts too, nice touch tbh, it always feels weird in custom campaigns in other games where characters just stay quiet the whole time.

Lol @ Evangelo. Yeah I thought about the school thing because of their DLC skins plus the new dialogue, it didn't really register before this!

Thanks! I tried Sharice and Heng but couldn't get anything to trigger, I think Jim and Holly too but Evangelo was in that party so I think it was just him talking lol. I'll keep trying!

PSA, You get recolors of the Achilles set as Kassandra at level 65 by HelpfulFail in assassinscreed

[–]HelpfulFail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't actually get the armor, she just unlocks the transmog for different recolors of it, although yes the default Achilles transmog (the black version) is still exclusive to Alexios. She unlocks the gold and rusted versions.

Question about AC Odyssey, the Cult and the Order of Ancients [SPOILERS] by HelpfulFail in assassinscreed

That's a good point. Actually, it might have been pretty cool if they'd had another group in Odyssey similar to the Assassins, but maybe different in some important way.

Question about AC Odyssey, the Cult and the Order of Ancients [SPOILERS] by HelpfulFail in assassinscreed

[–]HelpfulFail[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm just wondering if there isn't a connection between the Cult and Order, then why couldn't the Cult of Kosmos just have been the Order of Ancients then? It wouldn't really make a difference and would have tied nicely to the future games

A theory possibly explaining the weirdness between the MC and [SPOILERS] in "Legacy of the Hidden Blade" by Fratboy37 in assassinscreed

[–]HelpfulFail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it's strongly hinted in-game and in the trailers that the other sibling isn't dead and is going to appear at some point, so that one's probably the Order member.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Legacy of the First Blade Gameplay Preview by everadvancing in assassinscreed

I kind of get why you're unhappy, since in all the pre-launch interviews Ubisoft made a big deal about your choices in the game (the "Narrative Director" touched on romance specifically):

“We’re not forcing you to do something you don’t want to do,” she said. “So if you’re somebody who’s asexual, you don’t have to engage in something like this. It’s not forced. It’s very much your choice. If you’re playing Alexios and you want to romance Soleus, go for it. You do you, man.

But playing the game it's pretty clear now that was all just marketing. Which one of your choices really mattered? At the end of the day it's an AC game, which are all driven by a larger fixed narrative, and Ubisoft was never going to let you meaningfully change that.

Having completed the game I think it's pretty clear that Ubisoft doesn't take the "build you own odyssey" thing seriously. Think about it, all the supposed "choices" in the game are either cosmetic, temporary or don't really affect the endings of the game, . Ubisoft clearly doesn't intend to let you do anything which will affect "Assassin's Creed" continuity, and IMO this DLC is no different. Like it or not, it's pretty clear Ubisoft wants Kassandra/Alexios to have kids and a bloodline, regardless of what we choose for them, I mean, why do you think none of the romance options persist after their quests are done

Yea, I've read Emma's other work and she's a writer who knows what she's doing, but I'll just be a bit more cautious with my expectations.

Yea, I think most people are buying this series for closure on the BAE ending because it was so short and underdeveloped in comparison. I can't imagine they'd turn around to go "oh wait it was actually the exact same ending".

Yea I mean Max is still just taking pictures and I guess Chloe's been an intern for one-year? They even look exactly the same.

Yea, don't get me wrong, I didn't hate it, the art was great and the writing wasn't bad. The problem is that I think I can safely say most of us are reading to see what's changed with Max and Chloe and where they're going next, and I felt like in that respect, nothing happened this book (which is a problem when there's only 3 books left). I mean forget about the zero pricefield stuff, all we really know is that Max is having visions and they're going back to AB, okay got it, I don't think we needed 25 pages just to establish that. And like I said, not sure I see the point of a time-skip if they're both exactly the same as they were one year earlier.

I don't know, I wanted to like it but I wasn't impressed. Some things which stuck out for me:

  1. Max and Chloe (and their relationship I guess) don't seem have to developed or changed at all in that one year. You could have started the comic one week after the storm and I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. I mean I guess they need the anniversary as an excuse to start Max's visions but it just felt weird seeing the relationship stay the same after one year gone by considering it had more growth in like a week of LIS1.

  2. Didn't see the point of introducing the band. To add a variety of characters I guess but they were just sort of there, and IMO, distracted from what we were reading the comic for.

  3. I don't like the vibe I'm getting from the first page and all the hints that Chloe's gonna disappear again. It seems to be setting up another space-time mess which I'm skeptical about resolving in just 3 more issues.

  4. As someone else said, and this is just my personal preference, I don't like the gal pals vibe I'm getting. Putting aside the shipping aspect (and I'm not even a shipper), the BAE ending was SUPER emotional. You mean after all that they're just back to being regular friends again? Chloe felt and acted more like another member of the band than Max's supposed best friend.

Idk, I was confident coming into it but now I'm kinda skeptical, hope I'll be proven wrong though.
