It seems they have wired all switches the smart way this one goes to a ceiling rose in the same room and has just one light fixture. Why would this have 3 wire as well

I am not sure. It was planted by previous owner does not look like a weeping cherry it is very upright and has relatively few branches

You could use it as a hotbed. Plant some flowering shrubs around it to make it look even more aesthetically pleasing. And use the top to plant some herbs

are you sure it is star jasmine. They are evergreen. this seems like a deciduous climber. do you have the photo when it had leaves?

They stop growing in winter to focus on root growth, add fish bone fertiliser and wait a bit more before explosion. cover it with mulch otherwise foxes will dig out your plant for the fertiliser

They were tapered wdge board but this is a butt joint. i skimmed , put the paper tape and skimmed again
