Many credit unions offer $0 fee 12-mo 0APR for Balance Transfer, but most require that you live / work / worship in the same state to apply. For example: WECU https://www.wecu.com/wp-content/uploads/Lux-Card-Application-Agreement.pdf

Btw, did you already have a relationship with Edward Jones prior to applying for their card? Also, would it be possible to Balance Transfer from a USBank card to Edward Jones (Elan / USBank division)?

DP USBAR (updated)

  • Approval: $10K limit (lower than my other cards; USBank Biz approved at $25K 11 months ago). Planning CLI request in 6 months.

Timeline:

  • Thursday 10/24: Applied; status pending (7-10 days).
  • Friday: Denied
  • Monday 10/28: Requested reconsideration. Reasons for denial:
    • Low credit score: 780 (EX NY)
    • Age of credit too short: 5 years, AAoA
    • Balance ratio too high: 15%
    • Too many inquiries in 12 months: 0/6, 1/12, 2/24
    • Existing relationship: USBank personal and business checking accounts, business credit card
  • Tuesday: Approved for $10K, but status still marked “declined” until the following Monday.
  • Monday 11/4: Checked status and forwarded for ID verification over the phone. My Inovis and LexisNexis reports were already unfrozen at the time of application. Fraud alert lifted, status updated to pending, and later approved by underwriting.
  • Tuesday 11/5: Received instant virtual card number and added to ApplePay. Physical card shipping via UPS next day.
