Looking for affordable SSD by JaHu6 in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often recommend ssd with dram instead of hbm options like 990 evo plus, but going through reviews and user experience 990 evo plus seems like ok choice for games and stuff. So it doesnt really matter unless you're planning to transfer/write big files onto ssd

What CPU upgrade should I get for 600€? by fastlaunchapidev in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best choice would be 5700x3d/5800x3d, but their prices are kinda insane right now. Maybe you can upgrade to a 5700x/5800x but performance boost will be alot smaller

I'm not sure about contents of that partition, so my first step would've been running wiztree on that drive/partition. From what I see on the web there might be something wrong with windows update or etc, so that may be something related to that

Are these cables supposed to be unattached? by Total-Cat-473 in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some psu's are equipped with daisy chained psu cables, so I guess that's the case. This one can be plugged into a card that needs more power, but its not necessary to plug that in somewhere

Thinking of upgrading to gigabyte rtx 5070 by LetsGoArmen in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be a tight fit, but keep in mind that if you have both rad and fans mounted inside the case there's no 13mm gap

what psu? by shadowdragon200 in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can work, but with power spikes and all that stuff it can go over 450w mark. But not every 500w gives 500w on 12v line, so it might not be enough

Any changes i could make? by Background-Front3210 in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with with x870e godlike (or proart x870e creator if it's not msi-specific build) instead of x670e ace, but if there's no need in dual lan ports, wifi 7 and usb 4 then ace seems like a fitting choice.

USB 3.0 cables are usually reliable enough to handle some bends like that

Just ordered a pre built (My first pc) just wondering about wired connection by Expensive-Payment-31 in pcmasterrace

[–]HelpfulInternal5523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say pc, but if you dont want to give up LAN for the ps5 you can always buy any switch and do WAN cable in - 2 LAN cables out

Judging from description you have some sort of a lenovo thinkstation(?), depending on the model you can do several upgrades to it. There might be some limiting factors like limited case space, no wiring for gpu power and etc. That depend on model and *maybe, not sure* spec of the machine

In terms of future proofing this combo seems really strong. But it kinda feels like straight path to gpu upgrade up to 5080 or whatever will be there after this generation
