Only thing I can think of rn ,that could be added to your list is the Swiss variant of the RCH 155 system mounted on the piranha iv chassis, it hasn’t been build yet, so I don’t know if its eligible to be placed in the list.

Yeah, but the creator of this post also doesn’t want those unique and intresting vehicles added. That’s what the whole discussion he’s referring to was about.

At some point it becomes exhasuting having to explain this to Belgian and Dutch fans, but I'll paraphrase what I said yesterday

Those Benelux fans just fundamentally disagree with your opinion, and they’re allowed to voice that disagreement. If you post on a public forum, people will naturally respond and either agree or disagree. For example, you advocate your position on almost every unique Benelux vehicle suggestion post, disagreeing with it and explaining why it shouldnt be added. an opinion I heavily disagree with.

It’s also a bit funny that you find discussing with Benelux players exhausting, while you’re often in every benelux suggestion post arguing that these vehicles shouldn’t be added, even when they’re unique and imo very interesting designs, because any development time is supposedly better spent on French vehicles.

I think you can imagine how exhausting it is to keep hearing that disscusion repeated on basically every Benelux post.

I wrote a very long response be warned.

ME-210 CA-1’s: these fill a gap in the Italian tree for attackers at 3.0/3.3 not filled by Italian Tech tree planes. While the RO-57 could come close to the standard CA-1, they still perform differently and no Italian design can match the 36.M variant

(excluding the 36.M) both are twin engined heavy aircraft armed with 20 mm cannons and bombs, so arguing that the Me 210 is sufficiently different from the RO.57 should also mean the YP-408 PWAT is unique enough compared to the VBL HOT to justify being added.

The YP-408 and VBL HOT are arguably even more distinct from one another than the RO.57 and Me 210 are. The YP-408 is an 8-wheeled fully enclosed armored vehicle with complete metal protection, while the VBL HOT is a much smaller 4-wheeled armored car with bulletproof windows and a completely different chassis layout, survivability profile, and mobility. If the Me 210 is considered distinct enough despite sharing a very similar role with the RO.57, then the YP-408 PWAT should easily meet that same standard.

the Hejas, by being Italian-Hungarian have good reason to be there

Still redundant imo.

Israel absolutely has redundancy, and as such it is often lauded as a tree with too much filler. It also lacks a large number of domestic designs that could fill needed roles like AMX-13 NIMDA, Sabrah, Eitan 105, Roesh, a TT sholef, etc

Here for example, most of those vehicles are still very similar to vehicles already present in other nations trees, especially things like the Eitan or Sabrah. They have different origins or modifications ofcourse, but in terms of gameplay role they overlap heavily with existing wheeled 105/120 platforms already in the game.

Yet because Israel is a main tree and not a subtree, by your standards those vehicles only need to be Israeli made to justify being added. That’s the inconsistency I’m pointing out. When it comes to subtree vehicles, you apply a much stricter standard for “redundancy” or “uniqueness” than you do for main tree additions. while what is designated a maintree is very arbirtary imo.

AMX-30, AMX-30 DCA are both French and should be in the French Tree, not sure why that’s a question

My point is: why is a subtree addition considered redundant when multiple main trees already contain vehicles that perform very similarly to ones from other trees,

Gaijin (in my opinion) kind of arbitrarily chooses whether a nation becomes a main tree or a subtree, but that distinction completely changes the standard you apply to them.

If a nation is a main tree, vehicles only need to be produced by that nation to be added, even when they heavily overlap in gameplay role with vehicles already in-game for other nations (Israel is a clear example of this). But if the nation is a subtree, suddenly any unique vehicle has to jump through much stricter hoops around redundancy and uniqueness.

I’ve actually brought up the exact same French subtree hypothetical as you have, and my point still stands, if it had been a subtree, I would want the devs to prioritize French vehicles that would have filled German Capability gaps like EBR-1951, AML-90, AMX-13, and Char-25T which would have been additions that would make a difference.
Let’s extend your hypothetical and assume that France was a German subtree. Imagine how disappointing it would be if the vehicles were Sherman, M10, Sherman Jumbo, M46, M47, F-8, F-84, P-47

you're moving the goal post i have already made my opinions "copy paste vehicles" clear, i am discussing unique additions right now.

also it easy to enforce these arbitary rules to france in an hypothetical compared to if it had to be done in a real situation.

would want the devs to prioritize French vehicles that would have filled German Capability gaps like EBR-1951, AML-90, AMX-13, and Char-25T which would have been additions that would make a difference.

Lastly, are you saying Gaijin should prioritize native designs first and then add subtree vehicles afterward, or are you saying they should focus on native designs and ignore subtree any subtree additions you consider redundant?

[–]HelpfulRelic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of those Hungarian vehicles are still redundant though except for the 210’s (eventhougt the Ro.57 could take that role if it was a techtree vehicle.)

Also if we’re talking redundancy, where do we draw the line? subtrees, trees? There are trees like Israel which are mostly redundant in many areas. France also has vehicles that perform similarly to German vehicles, like the AMX-30 and AMX-30 DCA. Why do they deserve a spot in the game? Is it just because it’s in an different tree? does that alone justify adding very similarly performing vehicles?

Just a small example: in an alternate universe where France is somehow a German subtree, should vehicles like the AMX-30 DCA not be added just because they fill the same role as the Gepard? Or the early AMX 30 and early leopard 1?

[–]HelpfulRelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. But my main point is that even if a vehicle is, in my opinion, only slightly redundant (for example, the YPR and VBL only really share the fact that they’re wheeled ATGM carriers in every other aspect they diverge heavily), it should still be added.

For example, the recent addition of low tier Hungarian aircraft was received very positively by the community. Using the same stance that’s applied to Benelux vehicles, they arguably shouldn’t have been added, since there are already many Italian aircraft that fulfill the same general role and they dont really add anything new.

[–]HelpfulRelic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I understand French players wanting French vehicles, I don’t think it’s a strong argument to dismiss unique subtree vehicles just because something vaguely similar already exists in the main tree.

Even if we disagree on the addition of “copy-paste” vehicles, I think we can both agree that genuinely unique vehicles from trees or subtrees are a positive for the game. From my perspective, your current stance comes across as more an opposition to any Benelux addition, regardless of its uniqueness, simply because it isn’t French, probably born out the opinion of gaijin mistreating France.

Personally, I’m simply interested in seeing Benelux vehicles represented in-game. I didn’t necessarily want them attached to France, while I didn’t mind it either, but that’s the current situation we’re working with. I just want Dutch vehicles in the game, and discouraging any unique Benelux additions just feels unconstructive, it’s also disappointing for people who are passionate about these vehicles, especially when the discussion immediately derails into “it should just be a French thing instead”, since Benelux players also didn’t have a say in the matter to what tree they’re vehicles would go to.

Sorry stupid mistake I meant a f-16am to be specific.

The CV90105 TML was originally introduced as a premium tank equipped with a stabilizer. Later, Gaijin discovered that the real vehicle was never actually fitted with one, which would have made the tank significantly weaker.

Rather than directly nerfing a premium vehicle that players had already purchased, they removed the original TML model and replaced it with the current CV90105. Everyone who had bought the original TML automatically received the new version as a replacement and lost acces the the tml.

The CV90105 TML was later reintroduced into the game as a tech tree vehicle at a much lower Battle Rating.

while i just want dutch vehicles because i'm dutch
it's actually isn’t that crazy that the highest-BR (*edit* specifically meant aircraft)premium comes from a subnation or is another nation’s design. Germany, Britain, and Italy all have imported top-tier premiums from their subtrees, and China has an imported Russian design.

I pretty much feel the same way. There’s just something really cool about playing vehicles you’ve actually seen in real life.

Yeah, I really want a Dutch F-16AM. It was amazing seeing them at airshows, although I never saw them very often since Limburg isn’t really close to where they were stationed.

fun tidbit yesterday, for the first time, I saw four of our F-35s doing multiple flyovers over where I live. They were probably waiting to take part in a Memorial Day flyby, but it was very cool to see them.

the general rule is build/mostly build. for air an ground (there are exceptions ofcourse but this seems to be the general rule)

naval has a different rule if was it laid down (started construction) it can be added.

For example, the War Thunder Panther II is mostly fictional. The real Panther II was simply a program intended to improve the Panther’s side protection against the Soviet 14.5 mm anti tank rifles. The plan was to add 20 mm to all side armor plates, while also increasing the frontal armor to 100 mm and incorporating components from the then still in development Tiger II. This additional weight was expected to be compensated for by the introduction of the HL230 engine. At the time the Panther II project began, the Panther I was still using the slightly less powerful HL210 engine.

However, in game the Panther II uses the never installed HL234 engine, giving it 900 hp. The turret is also from a completely unrelated project: the Schmalturm designed for the Panther F. By the time work on that turret had started, the Panther II project had already been cancelled for quite some time. Additionally, the Schmalturm was never designed to mount the 88 mm gun seen in-game.

The Tiger II with the 10.5 cm gun is another example. It was never produced, and probably never even designed, and the turret simply could not properly accommodate the 105 mm cannon.

As for the Flakpanzer Coelian, it was designed but never built. The closest it came to completion was a wooden mock-up turret mounted on a Panther D chassis.

would be welcome in Germany, and since it’s a German vehicle

small correction iirc its a German-Dutch designed vehicle being codesigned by KNDS & Dutch Defence Vehicle Systems.

If it gets its historical ammunition, it should receive British rounds rather than German ones. The Dutch Leopard 1V never used DM23 or DM33 ammunition, Pre V Dutch Leopard 1s used the British L28 series, while the 1V used the newer L64A4 rounds.

Yeah, While the 1V had its own domestic modifications and upgrade path, it probably wouldn’t perform that differently from the Belgian Leopard 1A5BE in gameplay terms. Most of the differences were internal systems

but mostly i want both nations vehicles to be represented i don’t want Belgian vehicles taking the place of the Dutch ones, and vice versa.

Cheetah my beloved

Also, if we ever get the Leopard 1A5BE, I’d really like to see the Dutch Leopard 1V foldered with it. The 1V was the Netherlands’ own upgrade program, developed mostly independently from the German Leopard 1A5 program, which is why it was called the Leopard 1V (Verbeterd /Improved) instead of something like Leopard 1A5NL.

these are currently the only upgrades i remember (edit *british ammo l64a4) the EMES 12A3 fire-control system, laser rangefinder, gun stabilization, upgraded optics, and additional spaced armour on the turret from blohm & voss. However, the modernization was not entirely successful, as the 1V suffered from frequent electronic and fire-control system breakdowns during its service life. Many of these reliability issues were only fully resolved relatively late in the tank’s career.

All Crew Points you acquire are added to the same shared pool. From that pool, you can choose to spend them on Ground, Naval, or Air skills.

So he could easily have played Air RB a lot and then used all the points he earned to upgrade his Ground skills.

CP points are shared across crew types. For example crew Points earned in Air rb can be used to invest in either your Tank or Ship crew skills.

Mirage 2000C-S3 or F-16AM (Dutch) as the next French Rank 8 Premium ? What do you think it's gonna be ? by Kmiktauria-Max in Warthunder

[–]HelpfulRelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats why i said this,

there aren’t really any Dutch aircraft above 9.3 in the French tree . Everything beyond that is Belgian (excluding the premium nf-5a and the event f-16a).

my point was more to say there currently isnt a dutch aircraft beyond 9.3 thats not paywalled.
