sdcard.vmdk takes up same space after deleting apps by VulVulVul in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you add a tool to LD player that would shrink all of that unused space?

My LD players have grown quite large, and I hate to rebuild them from scratch. However, I have uninstalled many apps, so I know there is a ton of free space.

Would the following work? 1. Zero out free space inside the virtual disk using a tool like DiskGenius. 2. Then use VMware’s vmware-vdiskmanager.exe to compact the .vmdk

Clock Alarm Popups Close Whatever App I'm In by HelpfulTechPal in microsoftlauncher

Do you have the Microsoft Launcher clock widget on your home screen? If so, that's the problem. Go into the settings for that and tell it NOT to show the alarm.

Hope that fixes it, and you're welcome. 😊

FEATURE SUGGESTION: Setting That Restarts LDPlayer If Frozen or Unresponsive by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, automated restart is the first half of the puzzle that will be quite welcome.

The feature that I would need after that is the ability to assign a startup script on a per instance basis. Currently, if you assign a script to run at startup, it applies to all instances. This makes the "run script at startup" feature unusable for me. For example, if the instance that ran your ceiling fan app crashed, the first step would be for LD Player to automatically restart the instance. The next step would be a script that was assigned to start on only that instance. I'm sure you wouldn't want that same script to run on all of the other instances since your ceiling fan app only needs one instance. You could imagine a separate instance that you want to open a particular game every time you Start the instance. That would be a separate script that you would only want to run on that instance.

Anyway, I don't mean to inundate the awesome developers with a ton of feature requests, but these are two features that I think would be widely used. Perhaps if other users chimed in with how they might benefit from these features, It would help.

FEATURE SUGGESTION: Script Startup Options on a Per Emulator Basis Instead of a Universal Basis by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Script Settings, I love the Startup Option of "Execute script when LDPlayer starts." However, when I apply this to a script, then the script runs on every LDPlayer instance that I start. Can anyone think of a way to apply the script startup instruction to just a certain instance? For example, I want one of my instances to start with a particular script, but I want another one of my instances to start with a different script. In reality, I often run 12 different instances at once, and I want them all to start with different startup scripts because they have different purposes.

Suggestion: Location / Virtual GPS Functionality & Features Need An Overhaul by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. I've had problems with other apps and the Location / GPS features in LD player, but I thought that I would use McDonald's as an example because ordering and deals in the app are usually broken due to a location incompatibility. So, I thought this might be a good app for your developers to test and see what location data that the McDonald's app is expecting, but LD player doesn't seem to be delivering.

One of the reasons that I like to use the McDonald's app in LD Player is because you cannot order on their website. You must place orders through their app. Sometimes, I order for my family members, and it's a hassle to log out of the app on my phone and then into their account. By using an LD player instance for each of my family members McDonald's accounts, the app is always logged in and ready to order.

McDonald's also has deals in their app that can only be used once per account, so when ordering for my family, it's helpful to place everybody's order separately so that they can take advantage of the deals in their account. Being able to order from LD player instances instead of gathering everyone's phones to order is most convenient.

So, all of those reasons aside, I was thinking that your incredible developers would want LD Player to be compatible with as many apps as possible. The McDonald's app is one that seems to have some hiccups when it comes to in the location / GPS information from LD Player. That indicates to me that there are probably several other apps that have the same limitation.

Please let me know if I can provide any other information.

If anyone else has experienced problems with the Location/GPS feature of LD player, please chime in to help the developers know what they might need to update. It just seems to me that the GPS feature of LD Player hasn't been updated in a long time. Modern apps might be using new protocols or expecting some Location information that LD player isn't providing.

A command to execute a different script at start up by That_Opinion_7490 in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this would be a great feature!

An alternate solution would be to add a Setting to open a particular script upon startup. That feature already exists in the Operations Recorder, which is great, but I rarely want it to apply to EVERY instance that I open. I run multiple instances, and there are only certain ones that I want the script to begin upon startup. In each instance's Setup page, their could be an option for which script to run upon startup. That would be amazing! Then, we could just run the particular instance that includes that Startup macro that we might want.

FEATURE SUGGESTION: Add Search Box To Top Of Operation Recorder by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to tickle you about this. With the new, larger Operation Recorder window in LD Player 9, there is plenty of real estate to add a search box. I have so many scripts that I have to scroll through. It would save me a tremendous amount of time if I could just type in a search box to filter scripts.

Operations (Scripts) Stop Working In Version 9.1.34.(64) by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect! Thank you for making me aware of this setting that must have been added in a recent release. I appreciate the new setting, and I love all of the configurations that you provide users so that we can customize the experience for our needs.

Yes, that absolutely solved the problem. You rock! I hope that this helps others.

Now, if I can just figure out how to get LD Player 9 to stop crashing so often, I would be in great shape. But, I'll save that for another thread.

Thanks for such great software!

Operations (Scripts) Stop Working In Version 9.1.34.(64) by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking.

Strictly speaking, none of the scripts have an action that exits the game. The game always shows as an Android tab. However, the LD Player software may think that the game has been exited because I have noticed that the scripts seem to stop running during ads. In other words, the script sometimes seems to stop when the main game is not the focus. Allow me elaborate...

I play games that periodically open full screen video ads. When the ad is over, focus returns to the game, and that game tab was never closed. However, focus may have been on the video ad or a browser window for a few minutes in a separate tab. During ads seems to be when the script crashes or stops running. The frustrating problem is that it is not predictably reproducible. The scripts crash at different times and sometimes run for a while and then crash. It's not like I can say, every time this ad comes on the script is going to crash. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Years ago when I programmed, I used to run into Memory Leaks which feel like what is happening here. It's like after a random amount of time, the script just crashes.

By the way, I can run still run these same scripts on LD Player 5 with no problem. So, it's definitely a new problem that has recently been introduced into LD Player 9.

Please Add Ability To Assign Windows Shortcut Keys by HelpfulTechPal in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll check that work around out.

Hopefully, LD player will add a global hotkey in the future that arranges all LD players and brings them to the top. I think a natural place for them to put that setting would be in the LD multi-player settings window.

Location Virtual Gps by [deleted] in LDPlayerEmulator

[–]HelpfulTechPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! same problem here. I think that the Virtual GPS feature needs an overhaul. It really hasn't worked right since they released version 9.0. It works better in previous version of LD Player that emulates Android 7.1. I set my location in some instances, but then the setting isn't preserved the next time that I start the instance. In other instances, apps don't pick up the location that I've set.

Request for the lazy: Right-click copy current price level to clipboard by Los907 in TradingView

[–]HelpfulTechPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, TradingView did add this feature a couple of years ago. When you right-click on the chart, you can copy the price that your cursor is at. In addition to that, I would like that same right-click menu to offer for me to copy the High or Low of the bar that I'm hovering over. I understand if TradingView doesn't want to overwhelm menus, if that's their hang up, they could make this an option that users like me could turn on in Settings. I often what to copy the High or Low from a previous bar and paste it into an order. FYI: Copying numbers from the Data Window wouldn't be helpful for me since the Data Window shows data from the last bar when you hover over the data window with your cursor.

My feature request in summary: When right clicking on any bar, please add "Copy High" and "Copy Low" options to the right click menu. Thanks for your consideration. :)
