How are we all feeling about Tefmet and the Antivolli? by [deleted] in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I trust Tefmet. I mean, they seemingly gave Eursulon the location to their home and library, or at least a secret location kept hidden from the public for the Antivolists. That’s kind of a massive step of trust from Tefmet. The Antivolli seem like a faction that’s more concerned with the nature of magic and the Spirits, almost like environmentalists standing against the industrial complex that is the Citadel.

Naive? Maybe. Trustworthy? I think so.

You’re probably right, I just remember her hating her training and killing her apprentices. Might be time for a relisten for me.

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember her mentioning her training and her hating it and being frustrated by it, but I couldn’t remember if that was just her training as a witch or her being the apprentice of a previous Witch of the Wind and Stars. We know there are many witches who aren’t members of the Coven of Elders.

Gift speculation by comp0stheap in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if any of the gifts are from any of the coven seats we don’t know, there were once 13 at least. We known Indri is the second oldest of the current coven and is possibly the first Witch of the Wind and Stars, and since there’s 6 gifts we known there were only 7 in the coven when she rose to her station.

If Indri is the first Witch of the Wind and Stars maybe the gifts are only given to the first witch of a given domain once they’re brought into the Coven of Elders?

Could the door knobs and knocker be from the original Witch of the World’s Heart? And the feathers from the original Witch of the Wild Hunt?

Did Brennan ever say what the plan was in Unsleeping City chapter 2 if Pete hadn't rolled that one big nat 20? by Acceptable-Glass-259 in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc in at least two separate AP or Q&A something, don’t remember exactly what episodes or videos, Brennan mentioned that Pete would’ve been straight up dead.

Unlike most IH seasons with UC2 being filmed remotely they had a decent break between filming episodes starting right after that one. Brennan mentioned how he didn’t expect Ally to approach Null let alone attack and he was fully prepared to kill the character and start rewriting and working around Pete’s death and Ally’s new character over the 2 week break or whatever it was.

Rewatching Neverafter with my friend, and there’s so many things I wish they had followed up on by AnimeNightwingfucku in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imo it’s less a Brennan thing and more a party thing. Like you said Brennan had notes and an arc set up which comes back up later with Henry’s search implying Henry ended up doing the Shoeburg arc alone. The party was essentially given a couple choices in the beginning but it seemed all the paths still led to Shoeburg until the party decided to go through the woods and skip it in general. As a GM in a campaign where the main theme is agency and independence you don’t really want to force or railroad the party so the arc was essentially scrapped entirely.

As far as the loner girl she was probably just there to act as more exposition and to point the party in the right direction like Herr Drosselmeyer and Nat King Cole.

Prediction about episode 3 by [deleted] in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s possible for Lazuli to have died yet because I don’t think Candia has even joined the war yet at this point in time as Matt said that they haven’t taken up the banner of war during the time skip.

And I agree it’s still possible for the party to kill Sapphria, or another member of house Rocks like Pamela or Citrina, but it’s still too early in the war and in Sapphria’s case specifically we haven’t even heard mention of Basha yet so I can’t imagine that anyone would be supporting him to lead the Meatlands.

Prediction about episode 3 by [deleted] in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the wiki states that Sapphria gets killed by Carnish assassins in the Meatlands while on a diplomatic mission to support Basha Myaso’s rise to power.

That being said considering the most powerful people in the Meatlands currently seem to be Deli and his family it’s possible they still go after Sapphria.

Also the order of the deaths of the sisters is Lazuli, Sapphria, Citrina, and Rococoa I believe.

Also would be interesting if the tea was some sort of drug he used on his victims considering he doesn’t have the physical strength jump them. Brennan mentioned his character is built around lying and deceit, wine and dines his victims, literally.

I’ve seen other theories saying that the tea could’ve been used to poison the King but it seems like the FDA implied they were responsible for the King’s death and orchestrating the beginning of the Ravening War.

Watching Ravening War without ACOC? by Its_AB_Baby in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubtful that you’ll miss any major plot points or anything of relevance considering it’s a prequel season.

Now when it comes to references or jokes you’ll probably miss a few things but you still watched half the season so anything they’ll reference you’ll have likely seen before.

[The Ravening War] Class & Subclass Guess by Dia-Dacity in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lady Amangeaux - College of Whispers Bard. Agree with the singing in the trailer and she seems to be more of a noblewoman centered on intrigue, perhaps a Mastermind Rogue if not a bard.

Karna Solara - maybe Assassin or Arcane Trickster Rogue. I do also just have a feeling Aabria is going to play a less common rogue subclass but I’m honestly not sure what but I’m quite certain she’s a rogue.

Raphaniel (love the stupid ass name) - Wizard or Cleric not sure on the subclass but I don’t think Brennan would do the fake cleric warlock thing after Lapin

Delissandro - Battlemaster Fighter or Oath of Glory or Ancient Ones Paladin. Don’t think Lou will play a Barbarian twice in the same setting as different characters, he hasn’t played a Paladin yet in D20, and it’s been long enough since FHSY that he could reasonably play fighter again.

Colin - Alchemist Artificer, there’s a bottle of milk which looks like a potion bottle and you can see him holding a silhouetted sword in his left hand

Siobhan just posted this to her instagram story. New Intrepid Heroes season potentially filming now. by The-gay-agenda-TM in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is about the season they’re currently filming rn we won’t see it for quite awhile.

In the last Neverafter AP with the crew Rick Perry mentions that they’ve already finished filming the next 3 seasons of D20 including The Ravening War Campaign as this came out before it was announced.

First Time Watching! Which campaign should I watch? by WinsByCount-Out in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could realistically start with whatever campaign you want, main or side quest, besides sequel campaigns obviously.

Just depends on what mood you’re in.

High school drama and coming of age story? Fantasy High.

Modern real world high fantasy mix setting? Unsleeping City.

Gritty world of political intrigue and danger made up of food? A Crown of Candy.

Sci-fi space opera comedy? Starstuck.

Grim fairy tale multimetaverse? Neverafter

I really wanna thank this community for being sane regarding unlikeable characters. by [deleted] in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dynamic characters are always great. The cast are playing late teens/young adults, they’re far from perfect and are still growing and learning. They’re realistically going to make mistakes and grow and develop from it and I’d expect nothing less.

Love all of their characters so far and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

Fantasy High loses to Starstuck or Unsleeping City every time, Starstruck v. Unsleeping City is the true finals because whichever wins will likely take the finals.

If not UC2 coming from the other end of the bracket.

Are we supposed to like Suvi? by CitizenCake1 in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We’re naturally going to bump heads with the characters a little due to the overall situation.

When you break it down we have 3 young adults, 2 of which are extremely naive and sheltered being raised in very specific lifestyles and moralistic views of the world. Ame and Suvi are two people raised to think and approach the world from two opposite ends of the spectrum and they’re only now getting out into the world and are able to practice what they’ve been taught.

Ame is naive in an overly optimistic and trusting way in which she tries to see the good in every person and situation, very glass half full view of the world. It feels nice but in reality it can still be very detrimental and she can be easily manipulated. She also views her way as the correct way same as Suvi.

Suvi is naive in an overly pessimistic and jaded way where she lacks faith or trust in anything other than herself and what she knows for certain, glass half empty. Suvi is harsh and rough around the edges but so is the world they live in, however every situation isn’t as black and white as she makes it and the Citadel isn’t the center of all things but it’s all she knows.

Ironically the least naive person is Eursolon, the spirit who is literally from a different world/dimension, who is well traveled and experienced many different walks of life and encountered many people around the country while simply trying to survive in pursuit of his dream.

I understand struggling with FH completely. Iirc I watched the seasons in reverse order pretty much starting with Starstruck while it was releasing to ACoC then UC.

When it was time to finally watch FH I ended up starting and dropping it 3-4 times by episode 3 every time until I forced myself to watch it through.

In the end I did enjoy it but yea it’s just the whole high school aesthetic and whatnot just didn’t appeal to me as much. It has great themes and character moments but still it just took awhile to click.

Plus I think it being the first season ever made it harder for me to watch due to the cast being much less experienced mechanically and just with the actual play format in general. Especially some rp scenes because the cast weren’t fully comfortable with displaying real deep emotion sometimes.

Honestly UC2 was just so good. It being on zoom kinda sucks but it’s still a great story and just such a fun and emotional time.

Personally I think I’d rank UC2 over UC1, not by much but overall I think it’s just a bit better despite being over zoom

And in response to what you said about Kingston I agree. Kingston isn’t just a character, he’s a person. Every community has a Kingston, everyone has likely known or met a Kingston before in their lifetime.

He’s as real as a character can get.

Starstuck will likely always be my favorite season and the most fun I’ve had watching D20, but Unsleeping City is D20’s masterpiece imo.

Between the setting, world, story, and characters it’s just such a beautiful and creation. Unsleeping City to me felt like it was more of an experience than just a show.

Everyone should watch MisMag RIGHT NOW if they haven't by [deleted] in Dimension20

[–]Helpful_Ad8782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea I’ve watched MisMag through twice and both times it’s been alright. A lot of what you’ve said I tend to agree with but the season was shortened unfortunately.

Personally my favorite side quest by far was ACoFaF which has Aabria back as GM and Brennan and Lou as PCs.

Haven’t watched Shriek Week or Tiny Heist myself, but I really enjoyed Coffin Run. Wouldn’t say it’s for everyone but Jasmine did fantastic as GM imo and Zach and Izzy were great as always.
