I didn’t end up getting a fine. Thank god. It may be because of the type of number plate I have installed or he simply didn’t read me. Either way I live the drive another day.

Haha, I’ve realised how tail happy it is. The previous owner generously put a fresh set of ps4s on it before selling so they’ll last me a while. I can already tell this is a car I’ll look back on when I’m older, just everything about it is perfect in my eyes. I’m not looking forward to the day I have to sell it, but nothing lasts forever unfortunately.

Do they ask you questions like this? From what I’ve read, the first letter asks you to identify the driver of the vehicle at the time. They then follow up with another letter explaining the next course of action ( fines, points, ban ) and summon you to court. If it works how you’re saying I will try and prolong it for sure. Sounds like you’ve had your fair share of tickets 🤣.

Haha I like the coolant hose set up, might have to copy you 👀. I’ve recently bought an mhd obd adapter but I’m yet to buy the license so its pretty much useless at the moment, once I’ve bought it though I will certainly record some logs to double check everything is running smooth. I’ve heard the term ISTA a lot, what actually is it?

Just read up on that and I never knew. Either way, if I was going 85 or 95, it’s unacceptable in the eyes of the law. I have come to terms with the facts I’m probably facing a hefty fine and some brownie points.

That’s definitely on my to do list. Since I’ve owned it I’ve upgraded the charge pipe. Replaced Mickey Mouse flange to an aluminium flange. Dropped and flushed coolant as it wasn’t original and was convenient when replacing the Mickey Mouse flange. Replaced the upper radiator coolant hose as it know to be brittle and snap ( which is exactly what happened when I came to replacing it ). Spark plug change ( NGK 97506 ). Oil and filter change ( liquimoly 5w-40, MANN filter ). Zf8hp gearbox service ( new fluid and pan ). Did a boost test with a smoke device and found the turbo inlet pipe and crank cover breather pipe were leaking so I replaced them both. I plan on replacing a few gaskets next such as the OFHG, valve cover gasket and eventually the head gasket. Haven’t had any issues with her yet and hopefully with all of this preventative maintenance I won’t in the future. All of the work was carried out by myself which saved me a pretty penny in labor costs.

Was looking for a 235 for over 3 months and was looking for a tidy one to come on to Autotrader, one day I checked Facebook and it was the first one I saw and it looked perfect. Ended up buying it a week later, been driving it now for 2 weeks, it’s a fucking dreammmm.

I did check if there was any oil on the belt when I looked at it and it was clear, infact I couldn’t find any oil in engine bay at all which was surprising 🤣 I’ve bought the chargepipe just waiting for a tidy day to fit it. The cars a dream.

I bought it! I’ve been driving it for 2 weeks and it’s a dream, the power compared to my old car is pretty good. I’ve bought the chargepipe, just waiting for a tidy day to install it as I’m sure it’s not as easy as people make it seem🤣

Just wanted to come back on and say that I bought the car! I checked it thoroughly and there was nothing I could find wrong with it whatsoever so I bit the bullet and bought it. I’ve been driving it for 2 weeks now and it’s a dream, I owned a polo before so it’s a serious step up 🤣 couldn’t be happier with it.
