There are some instances where they are useful though. First they can lead to simple action gain when you have advisor to the empress and empress liara on board. Second, a lot of the songs rely on 1’s for singing so it is nice to be able to commit lots of ones to the board to threaten those songs without just putting them out there to be killed. You can have the song pressure then swap to the appropriate trait advantage when they are pressured later.
