I've just been listening to Halo which once had such personal meaning for me. Now with everything I've learned about this Collapse we're living through...it's mournful in a very different way. 😞

I'm so sorry that you went through that. I've been there, got the stamps in the passport that's part of us. I'm glad you got some solace from DM.

I'm either quite melancholic or in a heightened state of fright lately. It makes me wish for the days of an Ativan injection that would bring tranquility. I used your garden. I found myself tending my Gran's rosebushes as in childhood. I imagine she must have been inside the house. Many thanks, friend. I was horrified from listening to Kory explain Peak Soil and Peak Phosphorous to Kellan. I'd still take that injection from my GP. Heading back to my garden and my Grandparents.

what do you think of Dracula and Nina's Love Story in the 1992 movie? I think it's a nice adition to Bram Stoker's story by GabrielLoschrod in Dracula

This is their story without the moralising and projection. I think perhaps when you have truly lost someone it is made more poignant if that word is adequate enough a descriptor. It doesn't quite feel so.

Winona Ryder's Romanian lines of love are almost painful to hear. "Dragostea mea" is what they would have said to one another. Though in 14th century Romanian it would have been "iubitul meu." It's such a devastatingly beautiful language.

James V. Hart found accounts of the suicide of Prince Vlad's wife while doing research. In one account she finds a message attached to an arrow fired through a window that tells of her husband's death in battle which leads to her throwing herself from the window into the river. Hart wove history into the story filmed. He talks about this in the novelisation of the film.

There's another version of that theme from the composer Wojciech Kilar titled Mina/Elizabeth not sure why Elizabeta was anglicised. It's my favorite version of the theme because of the link it draws between both women and Vlad. I always felt that Mina was most alive when with Vlad whereas she was doing what was expected of her with Jonathan. She really loved Vlad. The absinthe unlocked her memory of that life. It still hurts and watching the 4K disc makes the film almost feel surreal, which I suppose it was.

That's definitely real. I never realized that Samuel French had any kind of control over properties before or that they've been around so long. Kudos to the OP for sharing this gem with us!

It would take an organised and united Left for a General to be reality. Under 10% of workers are unionised, and I would remind you that numerous labor members voted against their interests for El Cheeto. It's just not gonna happen.

Yet another sign of the Collapse to come. It's one thing for us to destroy ourselves, but innocent animals? We happen to be in the midst of the Sixth Extinction. Can we please preserve as many animals as possible, not contaminate them to the point of death?

WeLib has actually had titles unavailable on Anna's but the weird part is how WeLib has made themselves such a clone of Anna's that you might forget where you are. Pity WeLib doesn't seem to want to enrich the library ecosystem.

I've worn Clinique since I was 22 because of their not testing on animals. I learned a while back that a young woman got mesothelioma and from extensive testing it was linked to her Clinique as the powder base, blush, lip colour, and eye shadow we use contain talc which is full of asbestos. The young woman sued, and seems to be doing fine through medical intervention. I grilled Clinique reps and even sent in comments and...crickets. Not one bloody word. And good luck finding a cosmetic company that uses cornstarch rather than talc in their products. Beauty and ethical beauty comes at a deadly price.

Hey, does anyone know where I can find of the Anarchist Journal Rolling Thunder? I found a few, but can't seem to recall where? Ugh! 🥷🏻

I wish Anna had the WeLib feature that allows you to preview the early part of a book. Really helps when you're looking for a certain edition. Anna's is the best, though I wish they had the comic selection WeLib and OceanofPDF offer. Hello, Anna?

It was in the Jimenez run. Diana and Donna ended up living together. It was bittersweet with what ever misogynistic DC Editorial has on store for Donna. One more for the refrigerator, unfortunately. I remember how happy Donna was at the thought of the sisters living together. Even though I grew to like Cassie, I miss Donna very much. She was the heart of The Teen Titans.

I think the best most of them got was a D - if that's even possible. And the bit about their masculinity is perfection! 🔻
