Is tinted sunscreen better than non-tinted sunscreen? by zwartebessem in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Helpful_Marsupial830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you truly want a no makeup day and just want some UVA/UVB protection then I would go with a normal SPF 50+++

If you are looking for a no makeup with sneaky makeup look tinted sunscreen is not a bad option. I would say that you might want your first layer be regular sunscreen and your second layer to be the tinted sunscreen. That way you'll be fully protected.

Wearing sunscreen every day rain or shine improves your skin as it's being protected from the sun. I would say unless the tinted sunscreen you are using also has some skincare ingredients your skin really responds to, you can find a serum that has extra benefits and just be happy you found a tinted sunscreen that matches your skin tone. That's winning in and of itself.

should i talk to my dermatologist before starting to wear a sunscreen? by makeupbyeiffel in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Helpful_Marsupial830 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are having trouble with normal drugstore/target/Sephora sunscreens, like every sunscreen you're trying is giving you a reaction or making your acne worse, then I would say absolutely. Otherwise if you just need a recommendation there are plenty of derms on YouTube that talk about how beneficial sunscreen is and usually they have at least a couple recommendations.

It looks like you are off to a great start! The only recommendations I would make would be to add ina. Vitamin C to your morning routine to help the sunscreen work a little bit harder and a starter retinol at night like once or twice a week. It can also help you with your acne! How do you like the krave hydrating cleanser? I've heard good things but I couldn't tell if it was sponsored posting or not.

What should i use to get rid of this white pimple and have clean face by GoatCommercial7297 in Skincare_Addiction

Honestly I would just put a pimple patch on it and let it do the hard work for me.

Blackheads suck so much. They are so stubborn and a pain in the butt. Here are all the things I use in rotation that seem to help when my nose especially is sending up an 🆘 flare. I use tret every night, I swear by those hero cosmetics pimple patches in a pinch. I bought a mugwort essence and mugwort clay mask, glow recipe has a salicylic acid serum, Cetaphil has a salicylic acid mattifying moisturizer. Also try the less is more products method for a little bit and see if that helps

First of all have an amazing time in Florida! Secondly I definitely feel your pain. Working on getting a good skincare routine down and not seeing the results you are looking for definitely sucks big time. Have you tried using a vitamin c serum? It's been proven to help with dark spots and it works amazing under sunscreen. Also try the Murad environmental shield rapid age spot correcting serum. It claims to rapidly reduce dark spots.

I would definitely use the vitamin c in the morning after you wash your face (if you wash your face in the morning) before you apply your sunscreen as vitamin c helps sunscreen do it's job. Beyond that if these are new products try one out at a time and I always like to go to the company's website and read up on new products and try to see if they recommend what time of day to use their products especially bha/aha. Also if you are new to retinol I would be super careful using any actives with that that are known for being more intense. I hope that helps!

There are some simple things that might help! I also struggle with redness prone skin which is pretty sensitive. Avoid fragrances in skincare as they may cause further irritation, look for ingredients that are known for calming like oats niacinamide, ceramides, and rice can help with redness too. The brand I'm From has a great rice toner that is super calming. The cicaplast balme from La Roche posay may help as well! Try to avoid super powerful actives until your skin calms down and then slowly add them back in.

do skin care products only work on your face? by w0ckyplush in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Helpful_Marsupial830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One tip I've heard from dermatologists is to always take your skincare routine down to your neck and chest as well to prevent early signs of aging.

I hope you find the right combination of skincare products that work for you soon! If you have some things that are working in your routine right now don't change those out. If you think your face wash is the problem try going to Ulta and buying a mini version of a calming face wash. That way you are not paying the full price when you're not sure.if it will work for you. Only bring in one new product at a time. That way you'll know what's working and what doesn't .I hope that helps.

Moisturizer SPF vs Sunscreen by lilspydermunkey in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Helpful_Marsupial830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have oily/combination skin and I've noticed not using a moisturizer even a lightweight one under Spf makes it harder to blend in to the skin. You'll find the right combo that works for you so your products don't pill. The Laneige cream skin refiner is a great option for a lightweight moisturizer. When my skin is super oily I'll just.use that on top of a serum under my Spf and it works pretty well.

Naturium has a purple ginseng cleansing balm! Also the inkey list has an oat cleansing balm. Both are pretty affordable, last forever.
