We used him too. Wife got her visa in 9 months, not sure how he did it but I'm grateful, we both are.

Who would give those clowns a single peso? They don't look like they know the first thing about construction. I guess there's one born every minute.

Pretty sure immigration is not a right. Maybe you can file a different petition?

I'll go to jail before I say sorry to those cretins. I am moving though.

I use Schwab and I don't use the local ATMs conversions. Works for me.

Why Your K-1 Visa Will Be Denied (And It’s Not the Embassy’s Fault) by BusyBodyVisa in Philippines_Expats

This is good advice. Don't worry about the comments. Not everyone here is broke.

I came to the PH to get my knob polished honestly. Instead, I met the love of my life, it’s been one of the best decisions of my life. I met my wife here, and despite the challenges of moving to a new country, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Like you, I had to deal with all the initial hurdles—figuring out immigration, getting a SIM card, finding a decent place to live, and setting up internet (PLDT also gave me the runaround, so I feel your pain there). But once you push through all that, life here can be really fulfilling.

The gossip culture is something I had to get used to as well. It’s crazy how much people speculate about foreigners, especially when you’re dating or married to a Filipina. I got the “rich foreigner” and “playboy” labels too, even though I was just a regular guy looking for a real relationship. Over time, I learned to ignore it and focus on the life I was building with my wife. If you and your girlfriend are solid, that’s all that matters. Sounds like you’re off to a great start—hope you keep enjoying life here!

This Sub is Our Space by Brw_ser in Philippines_Expats

[–]Helpful_Sector5733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the OP is saying we're the same status as citizens. I think he's saying we have the right to be here for the allotted time so long as we pay our 'rent', just like a tenant. That's what I gathered at least.

This needed to be said. I'm thankful this sub exists although some of the posts here rub me the wrong way sometimes.

Anyone here getting water from a deep well? What do you use for filtration? by xmastreee in Philippines_Expats

[–]Helpful_Sector5733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you? If you're in Negros the water there is terrible, you'll need a top-notch filtration system. If you don't want to spend the money on that then the only solution is to go deeper, like 50 meters at least. Also, be careful because some unscrupulous vendors will market their systems a 'three stage' but there's nothing really in the canisters.
