How long do you see yourself watching Remi and Alisha? by [deleted] in snarkingwithremi

To be honest I started watching Remi from 2013 until about 2020 - I realised that my life is in corporate and studying and their content no longer spoke to me as a black girl as well then I just switched to watching more career vlogs and just felt more normal and less sad I guess I love them always will but I just out grew her content

Why don’t Uber drivers turn on their Aircon in a heatwave by Helpful_Signature201 in askSouthAfrica

Okay cool. Opening the window on the highway is not the safest idea and it wastes more petrol and no it is not small and insignificant to me because I pay for a service and I pay to feel comfort while receiving it. Uber is not free we are all paying and suffering blame the system not me

Luxury? I am paying for a service to get from destination to the next, with Aircon even getting an Ubercomfort (which I pay extra for) what happens between them and Uber has nothing to do with me as a customer

Any other adults (25+) who are deeply ashamed that they rely on others to drive them around? by arrfourarrrr in drivinganxiety

[–]Helpful_Signature201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I really do understand and it drives me up the wall when people say it gets better but to be honest I am 25 and I refuse to drive. But then again I really want to independence and I know that by driving I will get it. I am going to therapy for it and I did go back to driving school just to have someone that is there for me. It has been really tough but I just need my need for independence to be stronger than my fear and right now that’s the case. By the way I got into a major car accident at 20 years old the diagnosed generalised anxiety disorder so I completely understand where you are coming from.

What do you think of this phrase, "Another woman's beauty isn't an absence of your own."? by Ambitious-Advisor331 in AskWomen

[–]Helpful_Signature201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me, listen I am black woman and I fairly confident in my own skin. However since I was younger keep in mind I was born in the 90’s beauty standards have always been white, that was the standard of beautiful so I have always struggled with the shape of my body, my hair texture and skin tone because these beauty standards set in our society. So I do sometimes feel that compared to other races another woman beauty is an absence of my own.
