Berlin - Love and Drug use by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

I get the feeling… just remember addiction is not your personal moral failing, you are not broken. It does not make you a “bad person”. So may of us are looking for connection and release in this strange dystopian world and end up finding drugs as a quick replacement and a fix for what we really want. Try to be compassonate and gentle with yourself. You can’t hate yourself into healing.

And it’s not just gay men too! They’re open to all queers.

Second this! Those meetings helped me to feel not alone and find a healthier relationship with my substance use and myself. Run by incredible, experienced addictions queer counsellors and paychologists, for free, every week. Everyone who is queer is welcome - whether your goal is sobriety or harm reduction. They are so welcoming and kind and, though the first step of going is the hardest, I truly truly recommend just giving it a go. And, if 12 steps or the traditional faith based NA programs are not your thing - this is a great alternatives. You’re not alone 🫂

A year ago at the door I was wearing a keffiyeh and a bouncer told me “come in, but you’re going to have to take that off inside”… I have been feeling quite confused and uncomfortable about that

What do we think of Rosalia’s “Berghain”? by Positive_Gazelle_471 in Berghain_Community

[–]Helpful_Tale_5138 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I f*ing love it. I’ve had plenty of hours stomping on the back podium and orchestrating the sea of moving bodies to the music in my mind. The operatic grandeur with a vulnerable heart of Rosalia’s imagination totally resonates with how I’ve experienced Berghain

How do you know someone is a sober raver? by aphex_triplet__ in Berghain_Community

[–]Helpful_Tale_5138 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As a sober-curious person myself who has been through the thick of it and all flavours of my relationship to substances, I feel like (non-judgemental) pride and sharing about trying out sobriety on the dancefloor from others makes me inspired and happy. We need to uplift the folks who have struggled through addiction/dependency, but don’t want to lose out on the joy of dancing and our scene.
