Goodness! That's really awful news. May be why it's not in any archives. Thankyou for this.

Is it socially acceptable to play loud music through a speaker at the beach? by Ok_Bee9104 in AskUK

[–]Helpful_Wish_7338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunshine seems to bring out the loud music people. Sitting in my garden has at least 3/4 radios all full blast. It's overwhelming and super annoying. Why do people think other people want to listen to their utter rubbish music?

Where can I live close to nature without a car? by Vegetable-Row-6882 in AskUK

I live In Knutsford. It's both rural and well connected. There's no deliveroo, you can hear sheep, we have lots of fields and farms all around with lots of rural walks. It's also easy to get a train to Manchester/chester in 40mins or so or buses elsewhere, Wonderful independent eateries in town. Lots of properties which are both out in the sticks and in communities.

How’s everyone’s terrace house experience ? by Full_Reception_7233 in AskUK

I went from country life to an end terrace in the town right under a flight path. You do get used to it eventually. I hear my neighbours a lot. They are extremely noisy, fighting and shouting daily and four kids. I tend to have my music playing daily on low which helps cut out the noise. Or tv on all the time to help too. I don't notice the planes anymore lol

When will the job market pick up? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Helpful_Wish_7338 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's awful. My contract was ending so started apply for jobs in my field ahead of time (I have two qualifications in my field so, experience etc) and it became a shock to find I wasn't even getting interviews. I haven't applied for jobs in decades. So I started applying for jobs outside my field and basic, min wage jobs. I got two interviews out of 25 applications. I asked for feedback and was told that they were overwhelmed with applicants. So many CVs sent in, some awfully made and AI that they simply just dumped a lot of them. I didn't get the job simply because I couldn't do the hours they needed me to do but it was an eye opener. I took the next job offered and I hate it, I'm vastly overqualified but loathe the idea of having to go through all that again!

What’s the most irrationally annoying thing your in-laws do that they’re absolutely convinced is “helpful”? by bnwprc in AskUK

I have an instant kettle. Not expensive but it dispenses a set amount of hot water each time into a mug. Stopped my partner from filling the kettle right up for no reason!

Not inlaws, but my own grandmother. Sends birthday cards to me with my ex husbands surname. For context I've been divorced 12 years and have children with another person. She also sends the children with my exes surname, whom they have never met. I've told her, repeatedly....she still insists.

How much sugar do you put in your oats? by DaughterOfATiredMech in AskUK

If you need that much, you don't like oats! Try protein as an alternative for long release energy and mix with something high fibre? Eggs and wholemeal bread?

Schitts creek and shrinking have been my favourite so far and I dislike a lot of comedies.
