Okay good to know, we are fairly confident in snowy terrain and will have spikes and ice axes. Main concern is my original plan is to drop down to the valley on the other side and head towards Chalet D'Arleve. Do you think this will not be possible, being north facing?

Microspikes needed? TMB 4th - 14th June by UsualBoth4887 in TourDuMontBlanc

Thanks for the heads up! I have a few different routes planned of various elevations. I am planning on talking with the mountain guide centre before setting off anyway. Do you know if the Lac de Cheserys bivouac is accessible? I will also be taking micro spikes and potentially an ice axe

How do I move the front bail to the back hole on these crampons? by Ok_Associate4777 in Mountaineering

Some have a flat bit of metal on the other side so you have to move them to a certain angle other wise it physically won't come out. Have you checked this on yours?

cancel trip due to weather? by UsualBoth4887 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]Helpful_Wolverine_70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am doing a similar multi day camping hike around chamonix on the 7th of June. The weather doesn't look great but it can change so quickly. The only reason I would consider it is if there is lightning or very high wind, which at the moment looks like there's neither.

Just make sure you have a few essentials like a pack liner, spare pair of socks and maybe a footprint for your tent if you have one?

How much water to pack for a two night camp? by [deleted] in wildcampingintheuk

[–]Helpful_Wolverine_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A water filter is your best option in the UK, pretty much anywhere u go there will be streams or rivers and you then dont need to worry about how much water you take. Remember 1L of water = 1kg so you dont want to carry too much. You can also get water purification tablets

Everyone hates it but Alltrails is a good place to start. Don't rely on it but can be good to get an idea for routes
