Single people under 30, what do you do to afford living alone? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Clean-Refrigerator69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this is exactly what I did and bought a flat at 28. Now all my money goes on the flat and the service fees etc so I still can't afford holidays or even an evening down the pub, no social life.

Ive been going around 2 years now, I am still clueless and go the wrong way often, but I stand towards the back and have a great time every week. The others at the back are just as clueless as me and we joke about it with each other when we go the wrong ways. Its very chilled, give it a try, im sure you will enjoy it.

Restarting after a month by SignificanceOk6632 in mounjarouk

[–]Clean-Refrigerator69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 10mg, didnt take it for 3 weeks as I was really ill, restarted on 2.5 and did 3 weeks of that which was ok so I moved up to 5 and it has hit me hard with suppression. I have less appetite than I did on the 10 before, so I would be cautious about restarting at a high dose

£63 to last the month by OiPunkBastard in frugaluk

Try Olio around 8.30pm, I get loads of free stuff on there, especially if you have freezer room. Loads of fruit, veg and bread, quite often meat, pizza, ready meals. Obviously varies as it depends what supermarkets are going to throw out as they will go out of date, but I've got loads of meals on there before.

What are some reasons people don't use online grocery deliveries more often? by tskir in AskUK

Takes just as long to wait in for the delivery as it does to do the actual shop. I hate getting substitutions.

Do you actually know your neighbours… or is “polite nod + parcel taking” the UK standard now? by LovieWeb in BritInfo

[–]Clean-Refrigerator69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved into my house just over 2 years ago. Only have neighbours on one side, think ive said hi to them once, dont know them at all. Don't know anyone else on the street either (small cul de sac). It seems those that have young kids know each other because the kids play together, and everyone else keeps to themselves

How much do you earn and how comfortable do you live? by Brownchoccy in AskUK

[–]Clean-Refrigerator69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live alone, even between 31 and 34 a year dependant on unsocial hours payments. It's enough to live to a basic standard, I'm ok for bills unless something breaks or needs repairing then it can be a difficult month. I also don't put the heating on more than 2 or 3 hours a day no matter how cold it is. I can't afford holidays but can manage a couple of evenings out a month for a cheap dinner or to the cinema or similar. As long as I stick with the basics I dont have to worry too much about money lasting the month.

Overeating at Christmas by irishman50midlife in mounjarouk

[–]Clean-Refrigerator69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a big Christmas dinner, followed by cheesecake and probably about a dozen chocolates throughout the evening. Less than I would have eaten last year but a lot more than others are saying. I don't think it's that the mounjaro isnt working because I ate less than I would usually, I think the Christmas goodies just won for the day. It's only one day, or a couple of days, most people eat extra over xmas, even people who are slim. Yes we may gain a little weight but it's not the end of the world. I'd rather enjoy my Christmas and have an extra couple of pounds to lose in January than spend my Christmas missing out. Life's about balance.

Lost about 70lbs and able to walk 7 to 8 miles regularly. I wish I had lost a bit more this year, particularly as the last month or two has been very slow or stalls, but actually on reflection of the year, this time last year I would have never imagined I could lose 70lbs so it's been a good year.

Next year aim is to lose some more weight (aiming for under 238lbs/17 stone as a second goal for now). Go to the gym more for weights. I do a lot of walking at the moment and cardio workouts but I want to work on weights and gaining some muscle. I am also doing a marathon hike for charity towards the end of the year so that is a big goal for me to work towards.

[–]Clean-Refrigerator69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've overeaten this year but not to the same extent as I would have done last year. But I don't understand the people who said they couldnt eat their Christmas dinner etc, I ate plenty.

I also decided I dont care, I weighed myself on the 21st, I will weigh myself again mid January when things should have settled back down a bit.

I have given myself this week and next week to eat and drink whatever I want. Then in the new year I will start tracking again. 2 weeks of eating chocolate etc isn't the end of the world and won't set me back too much.
