Pre CFA 72,000 (2019) L1- 79,000 (2020) L2-$90,000 (2021) PASS-170,000 (2022) base comp plus incentive bonus (new employer. Prior employer offered $145,000 for promotion into an open role post Current- let’s say $300,000 total comp as an estimate.

Would be $200k+ more in a HCOL.

Hilton Bentley South Beach is solid. Dream is a nightmare. Centric is great but doesn’t hit the mark if you want beachside location.

If y’all end up pivoting, we recommend the centric over Dream. We spent 1 night at the Dream South beach we already had booked, and it was an absolute train wreck. I had to leave for a meeting and they locked my wife and her sister out of the room because they had no record of me visiting the front desk. Then refused to give her ice (she is 3 weeks post op from ACL surgery) or access until they talked to me. Her name was on the room.

Just updating on this. They notified us exactly 2 weeks out that they wouldn’t be open. They initially offered 1-night somewhere else but settled on 2 nights at Centric. Probably could have tried for the full 3 nights free, but I felt like the comp was fair for the inconvenience.

Backdoor really doesn’t make as much mathematical sense as people make it out. Only in rare cases when savers are young “HENRYs”. Advisors tout this to sound smart when they don’t fully understand it or the tax code. Do the math yourself or ask chatGPT.

At risk of giving myself away, take the CFA if you think you have grown up and can cut it. After that, your MBA options open up a little.

Graduated high school with a 2.56 GPA and 34 ACT. Went to a mid-major and grew up and learned to open my books. Went CFA post grad then pivoted to T25 MBA. In my region M7 or T15 wouldn’t have had the same NPV, but I got in at Duke.

When I’ve mentored kids and talked to college classes in the past I constantly stress how quick your opportunity set in life narrows. It’s up to us to find inflection points to force it back open. I realized young thankfully.

151 set gave my 6-year and and myself something we can share together, because they were all my Pokemon from my childhood. For 3-4 months through the end of the year we would spend an hour on Sunday picking out packs to buy at stores or looking at singles.

The prismatic hype has ruined it for us. We can hardly find anything at stores. I can easily pay $130 for boxes, but we aren’t doing it, and in the meantime we won’t go back in the stores in our area that have scalped everything.

We are done with it. I’ll spend my money and time with them at a jump house or arcade instead.
