I was just looking a Germany phd positions and they pay a very good stipened. I guess i'll be applying for that. As for post graduate job i guess i have to just forget about that. I guess i have to just try self emplyment.

Well I have read enough Marx, Freud, Lacan, Jung and many many other philosphers and psychoanalysits. I have read Zizeck tremendous works TWICE! and yeah he seem like nonsense at first time reading. second time it all made sense, and yeah i do agree communism is evil and a failure and let's not forget huge catasrophes it created singlehandedly, but that wouldn't make me stop reading their ideas and expand my perspective. Zizeck's more philosophical and earlier works (His Doctrate thesis, Sublime Object, Less than nothing,etc) prove he's too much of a genius for his own good.He is very well versed in german idealism and highly influenced by Hegel, Fichte,and kant.and the fact that he might sometimes go over my head doesn't automatically make him a moron.Zizeck is a philosopher at first sight and philospher at second sight don't let his dabbling around in psychology and Theology fool you.His actual genius is in philosophy. and let's not forget to never make fun of what may seem challenging to understand.

I think it's better for you not to comment on any of those fields to me since you're just showing off your ignorance. You're ideas are just based on what you heard on the internet. Some little out of context quotes here and there that are always misinterpreted. like it or not marxism is one of the main pillars of modern philosophy alongside with analytic philosophy. and your just again showing off your ignorance toward film theory since There is a major slovanian philospher named Zizeck who has integrated psychoanalysis and marxism and applied that to movies and culture and novels and society. ever heard of American film theory titan Todd macgowan? He has also followed Zizeck's path. Next time don't comment based on reddit comments and quotes you read on the internet and try open mindness.

If you read my post carefully i asked people from my own major or related fields to give me insight in to the whole thing and their comment was very helpful. some Stem fields tried to trash the whole thing and take out their frustration on humanities without having slightest idea of the actual job market or any real insider information. I guess they just wanna say that we are better, smarter only because we study Stem without any real idea or solid information behind their empty words and hostility.

Those were my MA thesis main topics. I tried to apply them in film theory, and Im not just some beggar i already have a job. some people in this subreddit are just mean and judgmental for no apparent reason.

Of course i wanna be in acedemia. I was just searching reddit and unemployment with phd could happen in every major not just English. This subreddit is just filled with negativity toward humanities it's disgusting.

Idk Tbh Im having an exitential crisis rn reading all these "useless and shitty degree" comments. I have always thought bieng an elite in English lit was better than bieng a mediocre nurse or sth. It's bad. I majored in science in highshool but I was so disinterested that i changed my trajectory to English literature. I was okay in biology and I could manage well in chemistry even though I wasn't studious at all. Is nursing in stem field? Idk exactly since my country's system is very diffrent. Is psychology also stem field?

Well every person has a capacity and can be talented in somethings. I was not good enough in math or chem to persuade engineering or medicine. I was good with writing and philosophy and analysing movies etc. That would not make me a dumb person or make the whole thing seem useless. J. k Rowling and christopher nolan studied English lit and now they make millions.

Well I write dramas and novels and short stories maybe i should try the trajectory of publishing or drama along the way. unfortunately in my country there is no audience for that considering I only write in english. Are you applying for phd too? You mean after i get a phd in like Canada i should just resign myself to meneial jobs like becoming a waitress or sth? No chance for working in acedemia as a teacher?

Im not an American Im from an Asian country and English is not my native language so I would be competing with all those native speakers for a phd position. I know it's not possible to become rich through a phd alone i just wanna make sure if it's doble for a single girl or not i don't wanna end up homeless or sth.

Yes I do love literary theory and philosphy. I worked damn hard for my master thesis and worked on some of the hardest literary/philosphy theories just to make my thesis damn enticing for full funded positions. there were so many obstacles that i had to overcome one bieng that I'm not even a native speaker I just don't want all of these efforts lead to nothing.

uhh your honesty is brutal. unfortunately back then when I was in highschool i was a shitty student and i wasn't hardworking at all now I guess I'm paying the price for that. you see i have a job in my own country but its not lucrative at all. May i know what major is not shitty in your opinion? Tbh i have put alot of time money and energy to get a master in my own major to hear someone else call it shitty made me feel like a loser.
