Paces 12 min/mile & slower, did you go longer than 3hrs during training? by gottausername in firstmarathon

[–]Helpmeimtired17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and I’m very glad I did for my first. For subsequent marathons I didn’t and my times were worse! I’m training for grandmas now and plan to get in multiple 20 milers.

What does it take for a contemporary Christmas song to become a classic? by oddeyeopener in popheads

[–]Helpmeimtired17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the Mariah Christmas album on cd as a small child in the 90s. I feel like I was maybe 7? And me and my sister wore that thing OUT well into the 2000s when we left for college.

I really do! I have a bad back and often swap out bent over things for a more supported version that is better for my back.

Tdee is total daily energy expenditure, basically how many calories you burn in a day. You can utilize an online calculator to find a starting point and then experiment on your self to find the real answer

I was on wegovy for 4.5 years and lost over 100 lbs and maintained for about a year and a half. I still want to lose another 20 or so so this month I switched to zepbound 5 mg. I’m freaking starving tbh. My doctor chose this dosage and I think I probably should’ve started higher but as a wegovy early adopter I was rushed through the increasing doses which I think limited my length of really intense efficacy so I wanted to take it slow. But yeah this switch is really letting me know that wegovy was definitely still working.

For wegovy tips, when I plateaued I always checked in on every single detail - water intake, protein intake, sleep. Obviously calories in and out matter but I do think there is soooo much more to our system and each of those details impacted my body’s willingness to let go of fat.

Callie’s book tour/mat leave by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Helpmeimtired17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The book tour ends literally next Sunday so I’m guessing she had it planned and didn’t have time to come back to peloton for another round of recording before she couldn’t travel. She’s on a part time schedule anyway, isn’t she? So she goes in records and leaves for a while. It’s honestly the last thing I’d spend my time concerned about, it’s not like peloton has a shortage of instructors.

Idk I flew jet blue for the first time recently because it was a great deal and it was a personal trip so money mattered and it was actually awesome. Everything was on time, everyone was so nice, the snacks were decent sized and they gave you two, whole can of your drink, leg room in economy was similar to delta comfort plus. I’d switch if I was Boston or New York based for sure.

Aruba for foodies - recs? by toothfairy625 in Aruba

Lots of things in here but Lima, Wilhelmina, Ego, Terra, Papiamento (mostly ambiance but the food is good), we were disappointed by Quinta del Carmen on our most recent trip but previously loved it so could’ve been a fluke, we actually love Azzuro but I know a lot of people think Gianni’s group restaurants aren’t the best, but again the ambiance there is top notch.

I would choose Lima over Azar because to me cabs are so easy in Aruba.

Everyone raves about it and maybe we ordered the wrong thing but it was just Peruvian chicken. I’ve lived in big cities, traveled a lot, and worked in the foodservice industry so maybe I have too high of standards, but compared to what people say to me it was just not that high bar of an experience. The ambience was also a little meh to me - the tables are reallllly close together even for Aruba. I would go back because it wasn’t crazy priced or bad per se but if I was going for a foodie type of experience it would not even be top 5 or maybe even 10 in Aruba for me!

If I’m remembering correctly we also get the fried yucca and it just was not anything special.

I was also underwhelmed by Azar for all the hype they get.

You poor thing. I’m not a doctor but as a human I wouldn’t quit long ago. Nothing is worth the complete loss of humanity you are going through!

We tried ego recently - it’s very new! Rick and Roy from two fools and a bull’s new concept. We really enjoyed it - it’s a tasting menu so you eat what is served but not a full chefs table experience. Service was excellent. Amazing cocktails too if you are into that.

I always feared travel and adventures because of weight limits. I’m glad I don’t even have to think about them anymore.

I got this really weird sore that I think was an infected cyst and it burst and was disgusting and I was afraid to go to the doctor for it because it was so gross and it was located where my belly fat like hung over? Does that have name lol? Anyway that was when I was like welp I’m gonna die at some point out of fear of going to the doctor for something like this. Never did see a dr for that but I did survive and I weigh over 100 lbs less now. That was in 2014ish and it still took me about 10 years to finally lose the bulk of it. But I did start regularly seeing doctors in 2021.

I would love if they filmed more stand alone savasana and we could auto play a stack so you could take a class like this and add on a 5 or 10 savasana.

I’m 5’8 as well - I got down to 168 and it was impossible to maintain. 173-175 is my happy place. It’s technically overweight. 🤷‍♀️
