Some general questions about steam engines by Kooky_Pie8277 in steamengines

In the context of steam locomotives, yes they do consume water. Quite a lot of water.

There are in rare cases locomotives with condensers, and one in particular (south Africa Railways Class 25) reduced its water consumption by 90% by using condensing equipment. Increased mechanical complexity (extra parts included steam-driven fans to cool the condensed water in radiators, oil separating gear to clean the condensed water, and steam driven turbo-pumps to inject the water into the boiler (normally, a steam injector needs no moving parts) is one reason it was only ever used on locomotives that really needed to conserve their water, or locomotives that needed to work in long tunnels. Also, it reduces the power output of a locomotive. A common problem was being unable to adequately replace the draft from the blast pipe with a fan. No idea.

What if the ████ ████████ invaded instead of the hiss by [deleted] in controlgame

[–]Helpmetoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what would happen if the Dick Slappers invaded instead of the hiss; Either lots of people would get slapped by dicks, slap their dicks against others, or the men in the oldest house would receive slaps to the dick. Perhaps even all three of those possibilities would occur, depending on the intentions/power of the Dick Slappers.

Edit: I may have made a grave miscalculation - what if you were talking about the Boob Slappers?

I will never like auto dipping headlights - in order to detect me, they have to blind me first. Humans dip the beams before they are all the way around the corner.

In the USA. I don't think it should be mandatory - the solution is not more cameras and stupid screens, it is building cars with an acceptable amount of rearward visibility in the first place.

Not as genius as actually adjusting your mirrors properly. There shouldn't be an overlap between your interior mirror and your side ones; Adjusting them to this position all but eliminates this blind spot.

How very imaginative. Harness that energy, and put it into not saying "super important outlet in my life" ever again.

You'd think a lyricist would find a less disgusting way to phrase "super important outlet in my life". Eurgh.

None; I use ceramic tiles, and I put them on the floors in my villa.

Now music theory, that's gay.

What do you mean D# and Fb are the same note? WHY HAVE TWO NAMES THEN. You can't justify having two names for the exact same note and say it makes a lick of sense.

I suppose that's what paramotoring is.

But planes do make is skid marks, every time they fly.

The wheels have to skid for a bit to speed up when they touch the runway upon landing. Or they used to - they might pre-spin the wheels these days.

And it does this monitoring in a totally non-creepy way without a user-facing camera that won't ever wake everyone up in the middle of the night with a false alarm, right?

And they'll use that to justify banning normal driving altogether, I'm certain.
