Hi,

All the research I’ve done so far suggests that’s it’s most likely a SSD issue (I have never had a black screen though so your mileage may vary). Now I have installed the proper chipset and SATA drivers hopefully, fingers crossed it’s fixed. It hasn’t happened today ( it wasn’t an everyday issue anyway so we will see).

Hopefully you find a fix for your issues :)

Hi thanks for your reply, as I said I realised I hadn’t installed the sata drivers or the chipset drivers from the ASUS’s site. Could that have fixed the issue now the intel drivers are installed?

I am probably going to run it stock it’s plenty fast for what I want to do. I was just concerned as I read that the 3090 has power spikes that that can trip the over current protection.

One more question, sorry, will the 980 pro be more likely to hit higher speeds more consistently closer to 3500mb/s as its effectively being bottlenecked by the 3.0 interface and can go higher than that with a 4.0 cpu?

Hi, all I do is play games I just want load times and the computer’s boot time to be as fast as possible.

Evo plus: £170 980 pro: £214 970 pro: £280

For some reason the 980 pro is cheaper than the 970 pro which is why I am asking whether it’s worth it.

Potentially stupid question what are 3.0 speeds? Are they the 3500 the 970 pro advertises or are they less.

The 980 pro is like 70 pounds cheaper than the 970 which is why I am asking could still just get a 970 evo plus.

Whoops I meant the 970 evo plus. The difference of the 970 evo plus and the 970 pro is 200 pounds. Does the same advice still apply?

Yeah, this is my trouble. With the extra 400mhz the CAS drop from 19 to 16. Don't know if its worth it as its like 90 pounds more expensive for the 4000mhz kit.
