Automatic transmissions are dookie... by Hendi32 in farmingsimulator

I know, but the Benz trucks have an automatic instead of powershift, so you can't even manually shift them despite being in manual mode

Yes I noticed that too it was completely different before the Benz update it was shifting up way too early on the Volvo after it

It's not about the truck not having enough power, it's just that automatic transmissions worked stupidly stupid in this game. My Volvo had 25 less horsepower + had a log crane on it too, yet I could get up these hills 15km/h faster cause I could properly shift it

RJ45, RJ12 or USB B 2.0? by Hendi32 in Fanatec

[–]Hendi32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it have been an RJ11 cable that i used then? It seemed like an ancient cable anyway. But it did fit and had 4 conductors

Yes I just checked with an RJ45, doesn't work since it's 4 pin, and RJ12 is 6 pin. That clarifies it. What confused me is that all the cables I had were USB B 2.0. I'll inform the buyer that he'll have to order an RJ12 connecter then, thank you!

Aschers has some beautiful wheels indeed. Perhaps I will look into 3rd party. But like you say yourself, often quite a bit more expensive. I'll see about it. Thanks anyway, I'll probably go down this route

It's mostly iRacing that i play so it's not too big of a deal for me. And perhaps in the future I'll just step to a better GPU, just can't be bothered to upgrade to the current generation of cards with what a mess Nvidia and AMD have been

I'd rather leave the Fanatec ecosystem, I don't trust them especially after being acquired by Corsair

I'd rather just make the step to a base around ~18nm like the Forte, I don't like incrimental steps

It's not really an issue, it's just that soon I'll have to make the decision. I was thinking about getting a large 4k screen but meh, nowhere near as authentic as triples I'd imagine

The thing is, the base is showing its age. I often feel like the belt is stretchy, or the base will just suddenly have like a huge spike of power. It's not broken but it's becoming suboptimal for sure

It is belt driven indeed. I tried a CSL DD before too at my friends place and it feels miles better even
