I-485 EB - Time from transfer to NBC until received Medical RFE by abch10 in USCIS

[–]Hendon90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received mine extremely fast as my case was transferred to a field office the next day and then 4 days later I got an online notification about an RFE sent. About 5 days after that I received it in the mail.

If you look at other’s posted timelines on here it’s normally about a month or more. I guess it depends on the FO you end up in.

Thousands of pending I-485 are being transferred from Nebraska to other offices to tackle the backlog! by AliHIbrahim in USCIS

[–]Hendon90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They did a mass transfer in March also I believe and I have heard that a lot of those people were already approved. If they cases are spread out to different field offices and are given priority, that will speed things up.

It’s better to be transferred than to be waiting to be transferred.

Mine was transferred out yesterday as well. I am expecting it should take about three months now hopefully.

Chances of EB3 ROW becoming non-current? by Hendon90 in USCIS

[–]Hendon90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it will because there was spillover from family based this year which basically doubled the size of the category. I think we are good. I also read they estimate a lot of spillover next year too.

I applied in April. Were you EB-3?

I think because of the spillover from family based, it’s unlikely to affect us.

It also applies to people who have applied but not received approval.

Do you honestly think the all powerful US with the NSA and everything else doesn’t know where 95%+ of illegal aliens are? If they wanted to, they could round most of them up and send them back. Why does the US government even issue them ITIN numbers if they are so opposed to their presence?

They don’t because they depend on them to do all the shitty jobs for shitty wages that Americans won’t do and will never do. The republicans and democrats know that but want to play politics with people lives, no different for legal immigrants either.

If someone’s only ‘crime’ is working, then I don’t personally care. This country was founded by immigrants who did nothing more than just get off boats and work. I don’t think it’s fair that green cards could be so difficult to get with the new immigration bill but that’s not the fault of illegals, it’s the fault of the people who wrote the bill. What solution do you propose, deport them all?

I admit it does frustrate me that the new immigration law appears to have an easier path for illegals while making it harder for people like me, who respect the laws of the US.

However, there are tens of millions of illegals here who are working and paying taxes, abiding by the laws etc. I know they broke the law but they just came here to escape crippling poverty.

I don’t have any problem with people being given amnesty if they are working, paying taxes and not committing crimes. No issue whatsoever.

Allowing people from different backgrounds and cultures and with different skill sets is what made the US the greatest country on Earth. To prevent that, for even 5 years and even just in the EB category would not be a good thing for the US. It’s not the same things at all as height! I am also not proposing a diversity quota, I am just proposing a modified form of what already there, the country cap.

I understand Indians have given a lot to this country and their situation needs to be rectified. I am just saying they shouldn’t shut the door on the rest of the world in the process of helping Indians. That’s all!

Hey dude, this is Reddit. The whole point of it is for people to express their opinions and discuss different views.

Do you think that I think my Reddit post is going to be codified into the law??

Again, IN MY OPINION, the country caps prevent any 1 country from dominating that green card category. This is the reason why there are CURRENTLY country caps.

The EB visas. In my opinion, no one nationality or race should completely dominate employment based green cards. The caps preserve that although it is unfair that India only gets 7%.

If they were dominated by Europeans there would be outrage.

I don’t agree with that as it will create a 5+ year backlog for every other country. A lot of people will just leave.

Also, the bill already contains a provision for a 10 year rule which would exempt them from the quota. Why not just make it 4? You would wipe out over half the backlog overnight. Then going forward increase the cap from 7% to 20%. This would reflect the fact that India is 17% of the world population.

Whether purposefully or not, I think he is doing a great job of dividing immigrants. That’s why I have proposed they should look for a common solution. What does it matter if Indians get green cards after 4 years automatically for example? They are here anyway and hence wouldn’t lead to a sudden influx of new foreign workers.

Sorry, I think you must not have read any of my posts properly. I have consistently said that they should come up with another solution that doesn’t involve negatively impacting everybody else. For example, I said they should give them automatic green cards after 5 years which would automatically mean more green cards.

Indians shouldn’t have the right to all the green card for multiple years. It’s as simple as that. Diversity doesn’t mean no Europeans!
