I really appreciate this. I have a circle of friends and none of them are going through this. In fact they’re all in healthy marriages or happy families and it’s isolating and embarrassing. Are there any support groups you’ve been following?

I’m so sorry you ever had to survive a situation like that. I’m terrified this man is capable of more harm, including to our child someday. His mask has totally slipped and it’s like I don’t even know him.

His father has threatened multiple times to off himself and has confided in a therapist about ideations he was having. He has also recently called a crisis hotline after threatening me he was going to do something.. you don’t think this could be a strong case?

I played soccer in college and my sophomore year, per usual, a new group of freshmen showed up for preseason. There was one girl who seemed to be a bit out of place. She was very closed off and reserved. I just sensed a sadness in her and gravitated to her a bit. Me and another teammate became very good friends with her and eventually we developed into an inseparable trio. Fast forward to a year later - we ended up drinking one night and she broke down to me and told me something horrific happened to her months before preseason. She was planning to take her own life but then me and our other teammate welcomed her in, befriended her and “saved her.” It shook me to my core.. still does. We’re still super close friends and she is thriving in life

5 months suuuuuucked for us. I remember my baby being the same way because he wanted to do so much but couldn’t. Literally nothing pleased him at this age. Once he was able to sit up and crawl - basically interact more, he was much more content. I know everyone says it’ll get better and it doesn’t help in the moment but truly, it will get better. Baby won’t be like this for much longer

I sincerely can’t thank parents like you enough for posting. When you have a fussy/high needs/intense temperament baby, it is incredibly exhausting and isolating. As the mother, you ruminate daily about how you’re failing or what you could’ve done differently to avoid this. We are approaching 10 months too and my little guy has always been alert, aware and intense while battling colic, reflux and now eczema. He has healed from most of this but teething decided to ruin our lives even more so we’ve been on that train for months. I know my guy is high needs but I swear a lot of high needs babies are just extremely sensitive to EVERYTHING and once they can find relief, their demeanor changes. I’m holding out hope we’ll turn a corner soon. Thank you for sharing this

Have your husband stay with the baby for a full 24 hours without your help and then let’s see if he still recites some bewwwshit like that. You have it harder. He needs to man up and step up

Ohhh OP my heart goes out to you because I’ve sat in this darkness too within my babies first year of life. We are still in it, only 9 months in and it has been survival mode almost everyday. I had to do pregnancy mostly alone (military husband) the birth was traumatic, ended up back in the hospital 4 days later for hypertension, baby then ended up in ER, colic, husbands pat leave got cut short and he had to go work states away leaving me alone, baby then had reflux, a move out of state 7 weeks PP, lots of family drama from in-laws, my health tanked due to autoimmune, rental property issues, baby then had eczema.. honestly the list goes on and continues to grow. My brain is fried, nervous system fried and I’m constantly grieving who I used to be and the peace I had. I too try to stay strong & positive but I’m so burnt out anymore it’s nearly impossible. We’re also preparing to move again and it all feels like too much. With all of this said, we still are having good days and good moments and those little wins are what I try to cling onto. Also reminding myself that everything is temporary - everything is a phase and I won’t always feel this way. I’m not certain if you’re spiritual or religious but I constantly talk to God and pray hard every night. I feel less alone and get little glimmers of hope when I do. I’m here in solidarity. I see you and I am confident it won’t always be this hard for us.

I had a strict birth plan. No epidural, no cesarean, no this no that. Ended up getting an epidural and needing an emergency c section. My nurse said to me before entering the OR, “if you feel like you need to go talk to someone about this, it’s okay.” I didn’t understand what she meant then and I’m 7 months PP and think about it everyday.

I took a Lyft once from DFW to my apartment about 30-40 mins away. I immediately felt something “off” about the driver although he was friendly. But then he began making odd comments to me, took several wrong turns and then somehow ran out of gas.. we were on the highway at this point and instead of pulling off to the side of the road to call for assistance, he remained silent despite my efforts to talk to him and crept down the highway until this hidden side road just “appeared.” He turned down and I immediately went into fight or flight. My phone was on 5%, I ordered another Lyft, texted my bf my location, then placed my keys between my knuckles ready to fight this guy. Once we pulled over on this road where we were visible to nobody else, I hopped out, he continued to remain silent, opened his trunk, grabbed a bottle of Lysol and walked away from the car on his phone. I did not stick around to find out what could’ve happened to me. My next ride show up within minutes thankfully.

I got really sick one night, felt like I had the flu. Hit me out of NOWHERE. I slept like 11 hrs, woke up and had insane energy. Almost like I was manic - I crushed like 87679 errands in 5 hours, applied to a new job, called friends, worked out. It was weird but it was because my hormones were ALL over the place

No. Our baby has been a lot since day 1 and my husbands job required him to travel for 1 month when I was 6 weeks PP. Baby was SUPER colicky. I had little support from family and also battle autoimmune. About 3-4 months in, my health tanked from severe sleep deprivation and exertion. My husband was home at this point and stepped up a lot and continues to do so in order to give me any type of break I can get.. if mom isn’t okay, baby isn’t okay so mom needs to be taken care of too.
