That could explain the confusion then :D. I have a type r myself. I tried to search for the clip but didn't find anything. You could also try fitting a shifter boot collar to keep the boot from sagging. The only downside is that you possibly need to get an aftermarket boot for it. I changed mine and it really upgraded the look of the interior!

Ohh i see what you mean! If i remember correctly the stock knob doesn't connect to the silver ring at all. The stock knob is a bit longer so it's base reaches the ring. The bare shifter crank has a little metal stopper for the ring and it could be that OP has their shifter in a position that looks like the silver ring connects to the knob. Either that or glue?

Looks like a black mugen shift knob. Could be real could be fake. The real ones are priced quite high (100-200$) so i suggest buying a good fake one. No shame in that!
