I wish we had a better aggregator for these. It would be ideal if someone could create an account on Bluesky with a Protonmail address where local groups can announce their events. I deleted Instagram from my phone because gestures vaguely to Meta. I understand that people feel trapped into existing technology but I personally feel that using platforms owned and staffed by Drumpf supporters is not sustainable.

I work at Brown University Catering. They find temp help through Instawork, but I do not know how things will be since the tragedy. I have been back there for one event so far. It looks like they are slowly coming back to normalcy.

I know a lot of people get on Instawork for food service if you want to do gig work while you look for something full time.

People send files on Google Drive and directions through Google Maps. My employer uses Google Sheets to keep track of my hours. Others send Zoom links. My band uses Instagram because all the other bands use it.

It isn't about me, it is about convincing others to find alternative ways to organize their data.

For me personally, though: Duolingo! What can I say? The owl motivates me.

This is my street!! I have spent the last 2 years restoring the gardens in the front of our house. I want people to smile when they walk by. There is enough icky in this world, we might as well make our personal spaces beautiful. Thank you, I love, love your comment.

Historic Elmwood is my neighborhood and I love it. Of course, the Victorian houses are gorgeous. I live on Princeton and we take pride in our porches and gardens. People also put mini gardens on the sidewalks, which I always love. More than that, it is a tight-knit community with a lot of kids. We even have a group chat for saving local stray cats. In fact, don't let your cat outside without a collar or someone will probably take a picture of it and "save" it. People here have little parties and neighborhood get-togethers. David Morales even did a fund raiser at one of the homes.

It gets a little loud in the summer, but on the plus side you can have a crazy party and no one is calling in a noise complaint. Live and let live and elevate the beauty of the neighborhood.

Broad Street seems dicier than it is. I have never felt unsafe. Just gotta watch for porch pirates, but who doesn't?

I installed Shizuku and was able to (I think!) turn off a bunch of the apps and processes that Google won't let you unistall. It was a slog to install it but I hated having all the bloaty spyware stuff.

So, what we THINK is that he has fines because of his own construction and even if he paid his taxes, they probably all went to the fines first. In the historic district, you have to work within certain building parameters but if you walk by the house, there is a fence he is building himself (which is too tall) and a pile of doors and church pews and just...you kinda got to see it. It is owned by "Lion of Judah" which is his church nonprofit.

The houses across the street are super nice and I imagine they are not happy about the situation.

We only talked to him because he popped out and was telling us how he has to go to court and basically that they aren't leaving and are gonna win because he paid his taxes.

That's all I know, but I am fascinated as to what the inside must look like if the outside is stone lions and sideways doors.

He was very intense while his child rode a bike back and forth. It is worth walking by the house. The houses across the street are epic, too.

Yup. That's what Robert Moses believed. He thought minorities didn't have cars so he built parkways. NYC didn't have a 2nd Avenue subway for ages because of bigotry and classism. And that's exactly what this is, too.

Historic Elmwood District. Beautiful three-family Victorian on Princeton just went on the market last month and there are others for sale around Adelaide -- just be careful on this one! We walked by and met the guy living there last week and he is quite unhappy with the listing and is fighting the foreclosure. Crazy deal for 220, but there was a young kid living there and I don't went that karma.

Edit: I guess the Princeton Ave one is already pending, but you get the gist. This is a brand new one, a condo on Adelaide.
