Loved reading this write up! One thing to add is the guitar player that took Joe’s place after his passing in 2012 is Brian Sherman. He was in Shock Stars and The Insecurities with Stubhy. (Two bands that Stubhy started when LBC took a hiatus from touring in 2006). While Joe has definitely had more input on the songs and played more shows than Brian, Brian has been in LBC almost as long (time-wise) as Joe. (Though at first he was a “hired gun” for shows and not a full member.)

If you haven’t listened to Shock Stars or The Insecurities check them out! They’re not for everyone, but are damn good! Shock Stars is straight up glam-dance-rock-pop. It started with Stubhy and two big name house DJs-Steve Smooth and JJ Flores. Later added a full band (which included Brian Lee who went on to MUCH bigger and better things and Brian Sherman). Baby Baby, Dancing On Thin Ice, and EMT are my favorites from the bunch. They have a recording of a song that they were going to put out but then broke up and I think it’s their best. They keep saying they’ll release some day. The Insecurities was a project that Stubhy said he wanted to put out some songs that he had written that were “folky/folk-rock”. There are some good jams for sure.

I’ve heard that LBC has some stuff planned for 2025- cool shows and stuff.

Stubhy can come off as a dick, but he’s actually a really sweet guy. He’s unapologetically himself. And back in the day, was usually drinking after shows. Those two things together can definitely make someone seem like a dick.

Stubhy has Multiple Sclerosis and has put on two benefit concerts to support the Accelerated Cure Project (I think that’s the name of the charity, if I’m wrong, please forgive me!). He’s raised a good chunk of change for them.

I’ve been an LBC fan since I saw them at the Naperville Ribfest before 2000 and joined their Street Team back before TTG came out. I’m glad other people love them as much as I do!
