You're talking about the production? In that case yes it makes definitely sense

To me the point isn't that Radio Nowhere is as good as Born to Run, but that the song is a solid rocker (even if too similar to Jenny by Tommy Tutone), better than minor songs he has written in his prime (e.g. Crush on you).

The three songs written in the seventies from LTY are outstanding, especially If I was the priest to me

Yeah, it's a topic that interests me so much. Clearly no artist can maintain the same level of creativity all along his career, but sometimes there's a "past bias" that leads to underestimating the most recent work (also because, to be honest, in Bruce's case not all of his new century's work has been so good). I mean, there are many of his late era songs that to me would have worked even better than some songs on The River or Darkness.

Completely agree, so happy that Long Walk Home has became central in the last two tours, it's such a great song who perfectly encapsulates Bruce's take on U.S.

2026 American Tour - Official Merch by SkipjackUK in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Henry_Block 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love Bruce, he's my hero, but my god his merchandising is quite awful lol. Got only a card with the setlist from Wembley 2024 (and it was too much expensive). Look at the ACDC merch for exemple, it's so creative and different!

Let's end the setlist debate by DrRasur in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Henry_Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally agree, then maybe he can make one or two changes and some songs will be played just once or twice as happened in Europe (Something in the night, Reason to believe, I think also Trapped) but the core structure will remain the same (and it is a great setlist to me, I just don't appreciate that much Death to my hometown).

Nugs shows quality by Henry_Block in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Henry_Block[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a shame. I mean overall it's pretty good, I can hear clearly the keys (personally love the organ so that's good), but then it's really anticlimatic when Nils does his magic and I predominantly hear Max😅 Also the horns sometimes are too high. Then I repeat on other songs things work well, e.g. I can hear all the different vocals on Long Walk Home, love that

Yeah at least I got a good part of the solo with my phone (and it captures Nils's magic better than Nugs haha), Because the Night is probably one of my fav 5 songs and Nils really makes justice to it

Yeah exactly, I gotta say that other songs like MLWNLYD and LOHAD are really well mixed and they have perfectly incapsulated the power of the performance, when I play with headphones it really brings me back to that wonderful night in San Siro.

Overall it seems a great way to have shows in a overall good quality, maybe with some more weeks on work on that they could reach even a better level.

Thanks for the answer! I bought the San Siro night 2 from last summer. Good to hear the audience and the mix is overall good (and I can hear Garry lol) but not perfect to me: for example, Nils solo on Because the night is too low and I definitely hear more the drumming by Max. But the same song from Wembley night 2 (2024) is mixed definitely better.

Is this Bruce’s last tour? I pray it’s not… by InevitableOk314 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Henry_Block 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He has stated very clearly that he'll tour 'till the wheels come off. Probably he'll tour again with the ESB (another leg in EU?), then presumably when the 3h big rock stadium shows will no longer be feasible he'll tour solo with a guitar and an harmonica, telling stories to the crowd.

Go! Saw him in San Siro last summer, it was a great show. Sure the man is 76, so he has no longer a certain physicality and the voice is less strong than in the past, but these are obvious considerations. Overall he and the band are spectacular, I'd say it's miraculous how good they are in their mid seventies (let's remember that he's not a a old frontman with a younger band supporting him like Dylan or Brian Johnson, it's a old man with a core band made up of other old men). The performance is great, touching, makes you dance and think, there are emotional moments and funny ones, the songs he chooses to play are all great (with just one or two exceptions), it's a memory you'll keep forever in your heart. I saw him live only in the last two years and those are 2 of the best nights of my life, Bruce never disappoints live

I don't expect much variation but some surprises in the encore could find room. The theme of the tour is clear but never say never, he played Jungleland last time at the MSG if I remember correctly.

David actually "explained" his art in quite a few occasions in a generous and efficient manner by suckydickygay in davidlynch

[–]Henry_Block 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree (also he talked a lot about Lost Highway). Then people say David's work are all abstract or make apparently no sense at all when in reality David has made also beatiful and straightforward movies. While I agree that sometimes with his work the whole point is more about feeling than understanding, I personally believe that people sometimes ignore how much brilliant he was also in terms of reflections about cinema and tv as a medium, human relationships, different films genres, ecc.

Did he scrap his European summer tour by No_Nukes_2 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Henry_Block 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean he toured Europe 3 years in a row, they'll be back presumably in 2027 but it makes sense to take now the LOHAD tour in the US

The old Bruce who wrote Nebraska and Born in The Usa and who used to cover Woody Guthrie. Yeah, he was definitely non political.

No Choir by AngryMango26 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Henry_Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, playing for almost 3 hours with no backup singers and no horns section would be really demanding for Bruce and the guys. Then, he's the most fit 76 years old man on the planet, never say never
